Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton (2025)

by dandelion » Wed Jul 02, 2025 1:58 pm

On June 27, 2025, the U. S. Supreme Court issued its decision in Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton (2025). It upheld Texas’s age-verification law (H.B. 1181) for websites with significant adult content.

The EA Fiction Archive is exploring options on implementing privacy-preserving age-verification measures to comply with similar laws in certain U.S. states. Until such measures are put in place, the Fiction Archive will not be available to readers in these states with active age-verification requirements on commercial and non-commercial sites alike.

We urge you to write to your state legislators if these laws inadvertently affected you.

If you think you are reaching this page by mistake, please email us at [email protected] or visit the EA forum for support.

For more information on Age Verification laws, please visit the Free Speech Coalition website.
