Thanks for the input folks, my mistake confusing California with Canada my 78 years is to blame I fear. In fairness living on this side of the pond, other countries are not so familiar as they might be, sorry.

However my concern and sympathy are no less sincere.

I see from my TV in England the news of those dreadful fires in Canada, and I remember Jesus a while ago now suffering hardship as a consequence which brought me to tears. I really hope that history has not repeated itself as I would not want anything to happen to my friend of twenty years now ...

Previous, but on going experience, leads me to suggest that our "guest" was a sting operation from the UK or the US as I know to my cost. Thank goodness our leaders are able to give expert and sound advice- as somebody said once, "Let's be careful out there".
