The only recent (and ancient) appropriation that continues even now in plays, is the habit directors have had through the decades of casting WOMEN as Peter Pan.
I was an underdeveloped, consciously gay little nerdling of a 10 year old when Mom and Dad told us we were going to a play about Peter Pan ...

Is this like the start of a new fantasy story? :)
Nice to see you, C van D! I (and we) can only hope a story might come from you again sometime...!

Say what now?
See Jesus' post above; wanting the left leg, specifically, removed is an indicator of a known 'wiring' difference in affected person's brain.

I am very glad for you that you can, as you should, reconcile your own homosexuality with your own understanding of your religion. Kudos!

True story. When I was in middle school a friend and I went to a lecture on UFOs delivered at the Stanford University International house. Well guess what, it was none other than Marshall Applewhite recruiting for his wacky cult. My friend and I left early. If Applewhite ever got around to talking ...

They also left one, maybe two, people behind; maybe they just 'chickened out', maybe they were supposed to not commit suicide, but their old website is still maintained, and a member was at one point maintaining updates and answers to questions as recently as a decade ago or so.

What's the word for that situation wherein you think / read / see a video / hear a story about something for the first time ever or in ages... and that thing or subject suddenly is popping up all around you?

I don't know you, Devi, but your icon pic is giving me one of the strongest deja-vu sensations I've ever had. As much as I know it's virtually impossible that I know you, my brain is screaming that I do. It must be the odd soft-focus of the pic. And the cheeky, impish a smile :p

Re: Eunuch symbol or flag?
The only times I ever tried to symbolize my eunuch desires, I did it as a joke which I expected nobody to get, and nobody did. I just bought, and wore, a T-shirt with a picture of a Mounds candy bar on it. As in the old advertisement, "Almond Joy's got nuts, Mounds don't". Pretty sure it's a line ...

I think the higher age here is because the younger generation consumes the Internet differently than how the EA is set-up.
Very true. I'm quite active online and the EA, while it feels perfectly natural to me and in fact has been an incredibly stable/solid website for at least a few years ...

I am pathetically childish about doctors, talking to them, and everything about hospitals. I'm just an idiot. I just don't want to know if it's cancer, you know? As a single man, it was all I could do to walk myself in for hernia surgery day, and I was ready to chicken-out right up until they gave ...

Re: At what age were you aware of castration?
I was around 10. I was semi-actively gay (fooling around with friends) but I knew I'd never change already; I couldn't see myself liking girls and it turns out I was right. But mixed in with this was a desire to be exactly half-way between a boy and a girl. I wanted the freedom to dress in girl's ...

Re: Peeing on an electric fence
A Ren and Stimpy episode had Stimpy and his cousin Olaf playing a game called "Don't Wizz On the Electric Fence", the song for which is at this moment stuck in my brain full-blown earworm-mode.
Ren wizzed on the game's electric fence.
As I recall, the result is not recommended.

Try not to be too aggrieved by those desirous of the removal of that which you would keep.
People be nuts. And there is no point in ever trying to understand the kink, fetish, or psychological desire of another, especially one you don't have.

I was an anomaly. Shortest kid in my class, I got treated as a little brother all the time by same age, but 'bigger', kids. Very little teasing, lots of protection.

Re: At what age were you aware of castration?
I sometimes think I seemed to have had thoughts akin to some of the stories I read here now. The "normal" thought-pattern for most here (and elsewhere I guess) seems to be a childhood fearful interest in the subject. But I was totally all for it, around 9 or 10. I knew I was gay already, but got ...
