Re: life without HRT
I'm also a no HRT eunuch. Castrated relatively young at 33. I DO HAVE osteoporosis. That's not much fun but with proper treatment (for life) one can live with it. Fosomax or similar will get you past the osteo issues. Otherwise I have only noticed a propensity for weight gain (I was up to 250 lbs at ...

Re: Felix Spector's last legacy and a new MoM
Alright. Looks like we have chosen a date which would work best for the estate and would (hopefully) not conflict with any other MoM. May 2009 for the first MoM at the estate. I'm thinking 9 & 10 May.
With 29 rooms we could certainly provide accommodation for all members staying at the home. There ...

Re: Felix Spector's last legacy and a new MoM
Is this by any chance along an Amtrak route? It would be nice to take the train from out west to Chicago and then on to Ohio if possible.
The nearest AmTrak station is in Akron. We would be happy to do a pick up at the station though.
One thing I miss about the UK - railways!!!!! The US needs ...

Re: Felix Spector's last legacy and a new MoM
2009
:(:(
We can accommodate sooner if there is interest to do so in 2008. Everyone let me know. I thought with the currently planned MoM in 2008 it might be too much in one year. Really on our end it's just a matter of reserving the estate for the weekend in question.

Re: Felix Spector's last legacy and a new MoM
I think we should likely plan to make the first event sometime in 2009. We should try to keep details about this (and any MoM) somewhat confidential. Anyone who wants more info about the location, the estate, etc., please PM me. Autumn here can be very pretty. We are in the Appalachian foothills of ...

Felix Spector's last legacy and a new MoM
Hello all. As most of you know now I was Dr. Felix Spector's partner at the end of his life. Tugon and I live near each other and have become friends. We have been tossing an idea about. At the end of Felix' life he and I came to Ohio and rescued a 150 year old Victorian mansion that had been built ...

Re: are eunuchs depressed and suicidal
I think that with certain males the removal of testosterone throws other chemical systems in the body into disarray. Perhaps serotonin in the brain or some such chemical is over produced due to the "imbalance" created by the removal of the testosterone. It's just my personal theory as the medical ...

Re: Replacing Kimmel ?
I have to say that I'm not comfortable with a surgeon who does voluntary castrations without requiring some kind of psychological evaluation first. I understand this is what Dr. Spector did and what Dr. Kimmel is now doing. I feel not requiring this is to walk a very dangerous line.
I feel a ...

Re: Replacing Kimmel ?
what are the number of men that are castrated by choice each year?
Would not have a clue worldwide (including cutters, overseas docs, Italian barbers LOL, etc.). Felix (Dr. Spector) probably castrated about 400 or 500 per year at the height of his practice though.
Toward the end about 1/2 ...

Re: Replacing Kimmel ?
When Dr. Spector retired from practice we searched for a replacement for about 6 months. Felix must have called a good 50 doctors in and around the Philadelphia/New York area. Murray was actually one of the first docs we talked to but it took some convincing before he would take over the patient ...

Re: Family - how to tell them about transgender-eunuch ID? How much to say in first note?
kristoff's advice is very good indeed.
I have only told two family members myself. My son, that was a lot more difficult for me than him. He's 17 and one of those "open minded" young people we are (thankfully) seeing more of today. He just paused and said wow! Then, without missing a beat said "I ...

Re: did you like being a eunuch?
Lots of fantastic replies here. I don't know how I could add to what has been said as it is all brilliant advice. I guess to reiterate the most important thing is to be absolutely certain you are ready to live this life forever. Time spent as a "chemically castrated" male should be your first step ...

You have had an interesting life Jeff. Thank you for introducing yourself. Most of us (myself included) lurk for a while then just kinda slide in the side door hoping to be unnoticed, then later perhaps drop the odd comment before opening up a bit.
There has been a tendency for guys on the EA who ...

Re: Interfacing with the General Public
Being both gay and a eunuch I have never felt the need to tell people about either (unless it comes up in conversation like this). I have never been the "out and proud" queer type (even before the castration) and don't feel the need to be "out" as a eunuch either. That said, I am not ashamed of ...

Hello all! I am new to the forum but I probably know quite a few of you and you I. I am Jeff the former assistant of Dr. Felix Spector of Philadelphia. Sadly, I must inform everyone of the passing of Dr. Spector at the age of 90 on December 5th 2007 :( He was a good man and doctor. He was ...
