Press the connect button on the receiver and the one on the bottom of the mouse that usually fixes it.
Ken
Yes Ken, that fixed the mouse. However, the keyboard stopped working too. I figured it was batteries so I replaced them = no change.
I repressed the button on the Receiver and pressed the button on the bottom of the keyboard = it works now

TORNADO WARNING for Southern California. No reports of damage except for a few cars flipped over. Lots of flooding near beach cities.
Still 40+ miles west of me.
Bet you would love to have Dorothy fall from the sky and land in your yard.
I live on a hill with a view of the ocean a mile a way. But, my pad never drained right. Although I improved the drains last summer it was filling up with water these last two storms. When the water touches the house, I pull out the pump as the drains are clean and at capacity. The pump works.
No damage but, if I had not been home there might have been.
The builder is an architect/commercial contractor who lives next door.
I got his muscle at a reduced rate and plan a last, steep fall committed drain at the deepest part of the "rain lake".
More rain and news to follow.
And wind, such wind palm trees swaying at different frequencies in the distance.

The city shut off my water today because I was behind on the bill.
Anyone know of an agency I can call to get it reinstated till the first when I'll have the money to pay it?
Wolf, As I recall you are in the USA in a cold state. Most cold states have laws that prohibit turning off heat during winter months, and water is required for most heating systems.
In your county-level government listings do you have anything for Senior Services or the like, as they should be able to advocate for your water going back on with some kind of payment plan.
I received a call from Adult Protective Services, those same bastards who gave me hell when I was my mom's caregiver. They said they would send over a social worker to look into my needs now.
I remember living in Mantica years ago we moved into the house my mother-e-law moved out of, we put the water in my name and paid the bill, three months later they shut it off because my mother-e-law had not paid her final bill. I did what I had to do, I turned it back on. They shut it off again and gave me hell for it, I called the Government, they raised hell with the city, my water remained off. BUT there is a silver lining, I also had a well, so I hooked the well which we used to water the trees and such to the house and kept right on trucking. After a couple weeks the City said I could not use my well for house water, I told them to get fucked. About that time they took me to court, where the judge asked the question why did you turn off his water? Later that day about 30 minutes later the water was turned back on the hose to the well was turned off, and everything was back to normal again. The cost for the bill. $8.90
Liz and I had a big fight over my cat. She wants it outside because it's in heat. I said, No. She threatened to toss it outside and I reacted by telling her and her daughter to move out.
I have wanted them to move for some time now but didn't have the balls to tell them. Tonight, my friends in the chat room egged me on to tell them, so I did. It caused a big fight and I'm still shaking from it.
Liz informed me that she has no intention of moving and that I'll have to evict her legally. This is despite the fact that she pays no rent, no utilities nor much of the food.
Liz even found a paper which she says she'll use as blackmail against me. It was a short note in pencil written by by mom when she had early stages of dementia. It said in essence..."I don't want my son to have my house because he doesn't take good care of me and he is a drug user."
I figure I have two tasks before me:
(1) To call my lawyer and get the house in my name legally. I have avoided doing this for over a year now.
(2) Call my APS social worker and ask her how to evict them.
Advice from all here is requested and will be appreciated.
I'm pretty sure APS might consider what she's doing a form of elder abuse, certainly wouldn't hurt to talk with them first. Clearly she's taking advantage. But I'd be talking to my lawyer soon as possible. you never know what she might accuse you of
so there are two possible outcomes of the present situation:
She is a house guest and has no rights and can be asked to leave. You should call the Sheriff to determine this. If this is true. Ask her to leave. If she doesn't leave when asked, call the Sheriff and ask them to remove her.
If she has some legal standing to stay (which is absurd but possible in California) You will NEVER get her out. You have no resources to pay legal expenses. I suggest that you are proactive and create a situation where the cops will remove her. Hit yourself in the head with something that will leave a mark and then call the cops and claim that she did it. Domestic violence trumps all.

call the cops/sheriff That note would NEVER hold up in a court of law.
You would just need your MOM's DR. to testifie and that would be it. If she isn't paying rent or anything she is a guest NOT a tenent and no eviction is needed. just my 2 cents worth Dave
