Finally, it's payday. I went on a three mile walk to buy groceries, eat breakfast and purchase pipe tobacco. Now, I'm exhausted and am going to recuperate in front of my iMac till Wednesday. Three miles was so much easier before I turned 65.

The Police just left my house. I had gone to lie down about 4:00 pm to escape the heat and recover from my long walk. About 8:00pm, the police burst into my bedroom and shown a flashlight in my eyes asking me if I had seen Liz's son. I said, "not in three months."

They asked for my ID then left. They were semi-polite but I was never shown a warrant. Sheesh, what a rude awakening

I took the bus to Target and bought a new phone - $7.01

At least, going by the user name, he's getting plumbing advice from the right person.

I hired a local fixit-guy-plumber today. He fixed my two leaks by replacing the washers inside the tub unit and the valve in the toilet. Counting parts and labor, it cost me $50.00. Not too bad considering what a typical plumber charges nowadays.

I called around to all the local senior centers to ask if there was anyplace a senior could get a hot shower once a week. The response was an overwhelming NO. *sigh*

I do not know about way out West but here in the heart of it all we have senior centers and we have adult day care. Adult day care provides supervised activities. nutritional support (lunch), and hygiene assistance. While typically they charge for the shower some of them have funds to cover so many hours of care. If there is a truck stop nearby you could pretend to be a trucker and stop in for a shower. Another waterless option are a disposeable product saturated with water and no rinse soap. The towels can be heated in the microwave for a warm bath or at room temperature. We would use these on patients who were not able to shower even with assistance. They are not as good as a shower but they will clean with out water and make you feel a little fresher. They have towels for washing, towels for peri-care and even caps to shampoo your hair.

You might also want to contact a local church that helps people in times of need. They may have resources to help you with a shower. Remember if they do not you can threaten to stay there all day.

Over a week without water now, but I'm surviving I hit my next door neighbor up for two buckets a day to flush with.

I just returned from my neighbor's house with a bucket of water (40 pounds worth), and I'm worn out. I''m breathing heavy, my heart is racing, etc. Damn, I must be getting old - LOL

Actually, Liz, who sorta is my tenant, said today she's going to put the water in her name now. Our water was turned back on today.

That could make it very difficult if you have to evict. On the other hand it's hard without water. (or electricity)

Evicting tenants costs money and at the moment, I can't even save enough for the water bill let alone any legal actions.

I pack their stuff up, respectfully, change the locks and invite them to take me to court.

None ever has.

Then I gave up on the idea of giving a needy person one of my extra rooms.

Makes life calmer. Maybe too calm.

Today was certainly an interesting one day in the life of a wolf. Friends called to tell us that Jeanette had been arrested by the police for possession of marijuana and accessories. They kept her for about an hour but, unfortunately, released her to her uncle's custody, who was here. She and her mom each received a citation to appear in court.

A robot from Edison called today telling me I could be disconnected anytime after the 21st. I called them back and pleaded, begged and offered them my first born. They extended me to July 2 - woo hoo
