Plix took me to lunch today. He was visiting from Ohio. He walked three miles from the bus station to my apartment. He said it was practice: when he gets back to Ohio, he plans to walk across the state from south to north. If only I had that much energy.

A walk across the state of Ohio is 220 miles.

I just called one of my Mormon friends and asked if he could buy me a gallon of milk, a bag of potatoes, 18 eggs, some Hebrew National hotdogs and some Cokes to tide me over till July 1. His wife said she'd give him the message.

Fore those of you in my situation, it sucks being poor - lol

My friend never responded so I'm living on a bowl of corn flakes daily :)

I have a 25 pound bag of rice but rice is so bland without gravy/spices.

Any food shelves nearby. I've seen a few at times. Nothing to be ashamed of

There are food panties locally but many are miles away. I need to wait till July 1 so I'll have bus fare.

Good news finally: two Mormons came over to see me and wrote me out a food order that included hamburger, veggies, fruits, bread, eggs, potatoes, etc. Now when I get my small check next Thursday, I can take a bus over to pick up the food - woohoo

The only thing better would be if Kristoff and Princess were here to cook my food :)

My small cheque came early so I had a burger for lunch and brought groceries, despite the 105 degree heat.

On the plus side, the Mormons gave me lots of good. On the minus side, the missionaries say they won't come to visit me very often anymore because I've told them I won't commit to tithing. Heheheh

Sounds to me like this bunch is out preying on people like you for money. I'd report them.

Yesterday I was in a lot of pain. I had a dull pain in my right side. I assumed it was either a gall stone or a kidney stone (I have had both before) It lasted till about 7:00pm. At 7:00 pm I climbed into a tub of hot water and the pain subsided.

It will probably return today but I do live directly across from a major hospital :)

For those of us lucky to suffer from Type 2 Diabetes, I spent the night having pain spasms in my left foot every five minutes. The pain hits the little toe and the two next to it. The spasms only last 3 to 5 seconds so just enough to be annoying. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say the pain intensity was an 8.

See your doctor. That is a sign of advancing diabetes. They may also prescribe a drug that helps with neuralgia, though they are not always effective.

Yep. That's one of the signs that it's getting worse and your blood sugar is too high. Diabetic nerve pain is a sure sign.

On the other hand, the severe foot pain lasted only 24 hours and I've had Diabetic Nerve Pain for three years now.

On July 12th I talked about pain in my right side. This morning at 5:08 I passed a kidney stone. Hooray. This makes 37 stones I've had since 1969 but the first one since 2000.

Had you collected them you could have made yourself a rosary.

I used to have a jar full of them but my former roomies stole them thinking they had value. Alas.

WAY too high. Those spikes are what cause complications.

I find anything over 120 intolerable.
