It's really difficult to say for sure whether these fantasies will ever become anything more. Good question! I have asked the same question many times. For me, all this castration fantasy started in my early teens. There was no particular event I can point to nor was I abused.

I feel that the interest has been with me since my birth. And it just emerged slowly over time. There were of course events that I would call triggering events. But I am sure that without the inner need or interest these events wouldn't trigger anything inside me.
