A holiday wish for everyone

Post by Danya (imported) »

I wish everyone the best as we approach the end of 2008, with hopes for a better 2009 for all.

Today is the winter solstice and that alone gives me something to celebrate. Warmer days are coming, even if they are not coming any time soon. :)

Whatever you believe, I hope you find comfort and happiness with family and/or friends who cherish you.

Daylight hours start getting longer after today! Amen!

The diet starts in about 10-12 days - post pig-out retribution....

Nevertheless, an opportunity to get together with some friends, some family, and a chance to reflect on the year past (not sure I really want to do that). We get to look forward to a new year (pretty scary for now, we'll see....)

In all, not a bad time of year, despite the cold. Hope all enjoy! Be safe, drive sober, watch out for the other guy... He's the one drinking and driving.

Merry Xmas, Good New Year All.

Thankyou Danya, for pointing out that today is the solstice, I was beginning to think I was the only one who thought about such things.

As for 2009, I am optimistic about it, at least today I am optimistic. I wish for everyone here a Merry Christmas or whatever holiday you want to celebrate, and a joyful and prosperous new year!

To quote Dickens, A Christmas Carol.

`A Merry Christmas to us all, my dears. God bless us.'

Which all the family re-echoed.

`God bless us every one.' said Tiny Tim, the last of all.

Merry Christmas to all. Or just have a great day if you wish.

Hope some of you will get your wish of an empty sack this coming year :)

Ah yes, the Winter Solstice... the REAL reason for the season, going back into antiquity and pagan times. I've been drug through several Christian religious things this season by good friends who have the best intentions and who are trying to get me back to the church. I don't have the heart to tell them that I left the church because it's all mythology, so I just go along and mouth the safe old platitudes..."Yes, we're all washed in the blood, thanks for asking..." etc. etc. My interpretation of the First Amendment, the establishment clause, is that I am free FROM religion if that is my choice. Thank You Nonexistent Jesus! There is no Jesus, and I am his prophet. Heh heh heh.

Find it very interesting that the first part of your profile seems a little strange coming from you.

OR a sack with two NEW goodies from AART, Coloplast, Mentor or Silimed! ;)

Just don't ask Santa to bring them I think the Elves only use wooden hammers and such...

And I believe its freedom to express yourself in whatever religion you wish. I know my own sect was beaten about because it had IDed with Church of England and was renamed to avoid that after the revolution. I think its important to remember that a person is free to be or not devote to whatever but thats not a freedom from religion or that some people might be upset or uptight when someone says "Merry Christmas"

There is freedom of expression as well. Thus I for one say

Down with "Happy Holidays" *This is the country where its OK to be specific. and of course

BOMB DETROIT!

Happy Festivis!? :D
