Very very painful, even with use of local anesthetic

No. If it is crushed and denied proper care, blood flow will slowly decrease, the effected testicle will slowly necrose, leaving only the healthy tissue. The damaged testicle will shrink in size, becoming a small hard insignificant mass.
If you do choose this route for yourself, prepare for pains of an extraordinary nature. You will need to psych yourself up, and give yourself lots of time. Prepare for the somewhat unpredicatable snap of excessive force leveraged those truley wicked jaws.
I know you have the "balls" to do it, but certainly hope you reconsider.

Re: burdizzo
Have you tried chemical castration? If not, I think most of us here would urge you to try chemical castration for 6 months at least before you make the decision to do anything permanent.
If you are sure you can tolerate low testosterone it might be that Burdizzo is worth a try. But you need to understand the risks, so read up on the subject. There are many guys here who have tried it, and with varying success. There is a strong body of opinion against the method on the grounds that it doesn't work. A lot of us have tried it and it has failed to castrate us - in other words, our balls survived the treatment. The Burdizzo was not designed to work on humans and therefore has not been tested in clinical trials. The 'advice' floating around keeps changing. A few years back people were saying you should give each ball cord 2 'bites' of the Burdizzo, but then we heard that that causes far too much damage to the scrotum. People also said it wouldn't work unless you use the biggest size of Burdizzo, and you need to close the handles really quickly to be effective. More recently, people have said that it's more important to keep the Burdizzo closed for a reasonably long time (like 15-20 minutes). But all this is heresay, and we still really don't know how effective the method is.
A local anaesthetic can make the actual clamping relatively painless, but as the anaesthetic wears off it hurts A LOT, and it is painful for a further week or so. I can't imaging how painful it would be to be clamped without anaesthetic, although I daresay there are one or two guys here who could tell you. But there again, pain is subjective, and some people like it.

One of the best things we can do for one another is to listen to each other's stories and to give honest reaction. Lets face it, most of us here are pretty fixated on castration and we don't really enjoy being deflected from our 'mission' as you call it. I still find myself drawn to this scene even after my two trials with chemical castration have been cut short because I didn't like the way it made me feel. Like you, I find the idea of a Burdizzo castration enticing, but I think it is something that should be kept in the fantasy world, at least until you REALLY know what you're letting yourself in for.

Re: burdizzo
I tried castration with the Burdizzo three times, and each time it was a failure. The procedure was painless because I had Xylocaine injected into my cords and scrotum, but I was sore after the Xylocaine wore off and I had deep cuts into my scrotum that took a while to heal. The first time I was clamped for 30 seconds each side. The second time I was clamped twice each side for 30 seconds. The third attempt I was clamped twice each side and the clamp was kept closed for 90 seconds each time. Either my nuts had a remarkable tenacity for survival or maybe the Burdizzo is better suited for animals. Anyway, the idea of being castrated by a Burdiizo is a great fantasy but not a practical reality.

Is the burdizzo painful? Hmmmm..... let me put it this way. It's like getting kicked in the balls to the power of ten plus one. Why would you do that to yourself when the burdizzo tends to not be very effective?

Re: burdizzo
I tried chemical castration for 11 months and loved it. I just ran into the problem of paying for the siterone and tamoxofin. For me to reach castration t levels it got expensive.
So I read alot about the burdizzo and what appeared to be the most successful way to do it. I decided upon clamping each side for 15 minutes while pulling occasionally on the nut side of the cord.
I used super t to deaden the skin and injected my sack and tried to squirt some on the cords. This proved to kill the pain during and the pain after didnt really kick in for several days when the testicle swelled up quite large. The left side didnt really do much of anything.
So that is when I decided to clamp my left side again. My big mistake was I didnt wait real long between clamping. This caused a big gash to open in my sack, which is still healing a month latter. I really needed to get stitched up but didnt.
Was I successful? Only to the degree of reducing my sex drive drastically but not in totally castrating myself. In a sense I was successful in that I am not having the problems in my life now that was going to ruin my life and I am happy.
If I had the money and a good urologist I would have definitely paid to have it done right. So m y advise is to try chemical castration first and be sure this is what you want. If you do decide to try a burdizzo be prepared for complications and pain.

Re: burdizzo
In my experience the Burdizzio is effective on most animals, but certainly not any good on humans, that is with one exception- if one is clamped and held closed for about twelve or more hours, you may well do some damage I suppose, but quite honestly it is a lot of pain and distress for no reward.
Cheers

Re: burdizzo
after a long conversation with a doctor at wayne university about his experiments with the burdizzo
Castrating humans can be done
it requires a excellent knowledge of anatomy
and what to clamp and not clamp
the most important thing the researcher stressed was keeping the clamp closed for 10 minutes on each cord
also ..some men do not have the right anatomy for this device
he has had a 100 percent success rate so far
as far as pain ...it is painful..it is painless under the anesthetic used for a vasectomy

Wikipedia gives a reasonably good description of the Burdizzo. Including it's use on humans.

I wonder who wrote that? We seem to be getting some very conflicting advice here. The use of the Burdizzo for castrating men is a subject that deserves a proper research project.

There is a lot of conflicting information floating around about the use of the burdizzo on humans, and if you check out this link, anyone who hasn't done any research could be easily tempted to use one. http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Burdizzo

I agree. It seems completely at odds with the info on Wikipedia. I think they are both misleading. It really is about time there was at least a survey done. But the trouble is that unless a survey is done properly it could still throw up a lot of misleading statistics. There are 'reports' of doctors successfully using this method on men, but until I see proof I tend to think they are fictitious.

i got my pdf document
hardly seems worth 4 dollars
i can email it ..no way to copy and paste it here ..thats not allowed..copyright infringment..wont allow copy and paste
any way doctor did 7 men bilateral orchiectomy
and......another 7 men with the burdizzo...5 were complete success ..2 were failures and were done again with success
60 seconds each side...not long enough...i hope someone tells him
its just a short article but gets to the facts
its not possible to send files in private message is it??

Re: burdizzo
A few years ago I had an interesting conversation with a doctor who managed a number of medical things including childbirth. He suggested that for many situations, including childbirth, it looks easy (for the doctor) and that the patient outcome would be little or no different in the hands of an amateur. He noted that women have had babies unassisted for thousands of years. He made sense. He also noted that he earns his pay on the less frequent occasions when something goes wrong - when all of a sudden what looked easy isn't easy any more. That could very well apply here in that for many a burdizzo could be an excellent and safe approach for many men who need castration medically or who simply choose that path. The problem is sorting out who the troublesome candidates might be - that probably requires the skills of a physician or at least some specialized medical training.
Same could be said for surgical techniques - might be simple enough and low risk for some but how do you know without being evaluated. The other thing is that in some cases even a good workup prior to surgery doesn't reveal everything.
