Unintended consequences along with interesting changes that I didn't count on.

Since I am transgendered and have been living as woman full time for over two years there is one significant difference since being castrated that I didn't account for and that is I don't smell the same. Towards the end of the day when I needed to use the facilities my nether regions had a very strong musky odor that was none to pleasant to smell. However, since the Orchiectomy I've noticed that the musky odor has all but disappeared and I find that to be a good thing. A good thing indeed. I have also noted that the perfume that I wear smells so much better and the antiperspirant works better as well. you know the stuff, "Strong enough for a man but made for a woman"

I didn't expect these changes I'm happy they occured I'm assuming the Testosterone interacted with the estrogen and produced a muskier smell. thankfully I dont produce enough T to matter anymore. are there any thoughts as to why?

The healing continues to go well

Sounds great, you will notice many changes that will happen some over time, changes that can be good or bad.

Glad to hear your doing well

I noticed less body odor but an increase in the scent of my urine. A friend who has horses said to me "oh the gelding's urine smells stronger than the mare or stallion". I though yeah I know. Typically when something is removed from the body such as testicles or a lung fluid tends to fill the void as the body adjusts. Sounds like all is going well as it has for many of us and in much the same way.

I'm amazed at how I feel and the minute changes that appear to happen from day to day. The Masses are shrinking albiet slowly but they are shrinking. I am on an HRT regiment taking estrogen to replace the lost T I'm looking forward to more changes all for the better I hope. As far as a stronger Urine smell I haven't noticed anything different, but then again I don't go sticking my head into the toilet to check either. However, it does appear to be slightly darker in color still yellow no tea colored urine but just darker I know there's a major problem if the urine turns to a lovely tea color, right to the emergency room I go and I wont pass go or collect $200.00 on the way either. I am in a really, really good mood today, as sugested by the small amount of sarcasm.

Update on the healing, the mass is continuing to shrink every day, I feel great and truly happy with the way I feel. No other effects to note at this time. I certainly recommend those of you vacillating on whether or not you want to go through with the surgery to go ahead and do it. Have it done by a professional and you'll be the happier for it

After six weeks or so I am completely healed I do have one question there are two little knots on either side of the penis up near the abdomen I'll asume that these are the remnants of the spermatic cords if so will they ever retract completely into the abdomen so I don"t feel them any longer

I am going to guess the answer is yes, if its not used it tends to go away. only time will tell for sure.

The answer is no... yes... well most likely not. It all depends on how the urologist did the surgery. If it is like mine he did not cut the gubernaculum (the part that holds the testicle to the scrotum). When they take the testicle out via the scrotum they cut open the tunica (sheath that the testicle is in) and remove the testicle. They then sew up the tunica and pop it back in. It is still connected to the scrotal wall by the gubernaculum. The reason that most do this is because they want to be able to access the cords incase something goes wrong after the surgery. If they release them then they will pull back up into the abdomen and not be accessible without major surgery. If they do an inguinal approach they cut it back and tack the cord down in the inguinal canal.
