ordered Cyproterone

It seemed to start working really well. The I started having side effects,it cause my right leg to swell from the knee down.

So I decided not use any drugs...

I have never heard of Cyproterone causing swollen legs. And for only one leg to swell - that doesn't sound like a reaction to a drug.

It originally started as an injured knee. I had stopped the cyproterone. the knee and leg improved. Then I experimented,

I went back on the Cyproterone and my calf muscle blew up like a balloon and felt like the skin could could rupture.

To have better control over my own sexuality and to be more compatible with my spouse's libido.

I guess it's possible that on Cyproterone your immune system wasn't working properly. Maybe you were a little anaemic?

But to answer the OP's question "Why be a eunuch?"

I have been interested in this ever since my wife went into menopause, so I guess my answer is: To lower my sex drive and be more comfortable in my relationship. My wife seems to like it when I lower my testosterone, so I do it for her too. I'm not sure I want to identify as a eunuch because I've always been quite masculine and I'm happy with my masculine appearance and behaviour, but to not be 'driven' by my balls all the time is a blessed relief. Every now and again I take a very low dose of cyproterone (I seem to be very sensitive to it) for a week or so and have a kind of 'holiday' from testosterone that lasts several weeks. I think I have already permanently lowered my testosterone a little (although that could be simply due to getting older) so I don't know how many times I'll be able to do it before I become a eunuch.

Your own answer corresponds fairly closely to mine. My testicles were smallish and gradually became a source of discomfort and pain. They often disappeared into my inguinal canals when I was cold or aroused. Guys I had sex with often asked where they were. I eventually sought medical help. A urologist took one look and said my problems with pain and discomfort would only get worse with age. The only solution was excision and removal. He left me to consider his advice, noting that testosterone supplements would assure my continued sexuality. I vowed then to eventually have them removed - accomplished in 1999. He was so correct. Not having anything in my crotch is so comfy.

The years passed , and the pain issues multiplied until I was finally able to convince a surgeon that a gay man with dead balls really didn't need them. .............I am totally comfortable being a eunuch, and truly feel that I am now as nature had intended in the beginning.

While being a eunuch is certainly not for everyone, for me it is one of the blessings of life. I am open about my status with most everyone in my life, and have no shame about being "different". I do use HRT, since I do not desire to be a nonsexual being. To some I know that sort of negates the whole eunuch thing, but its about what works for each individual

Advantages:

Lower sex drive: not having inappropriate thoughts or actions, not obsessed with sex and masturbation.

Anger Control: not always angry and ready to blow my top at the stupid littlest things

Calmer: much more relaxed able to enjoy simple things and quite time with my husband

lower anxiety: this is a big one for me, less anexity has made me a more succesful trader and removed a dramatic up and down pattern from my trading style to one of consistency

genital size: ok this is a personal one, but i never liked having an average size penis and testicales, I am much happier with the results being much smaller.

psoriasis: I had really bad psoriasis for years with not T (i dont take hrt) its gone, that alone is worth every bit of it

Disadvantages

Weight gain: gained 20#s tough time loosing them

hot flashes: bad hot flashes for the first year and a half but gone now

depression: had some bad depression during the first six months, but knew to look out for it, so I got some counseling and some meds and now I am fine and drug free. I know a lot of people suffer from it when becoming a eunuch or on a drug trial run, but for me and I believe a few others its just part of transistion that we have to be prepared for it and can work through it with the help and support from doctors and friends.

Osteo: we all know that this a bad disadvanatge but we can do a lot of preventitive maintaince to avoid or delay it.
