White base with a "hint a' magenta" or orchid, I'd say. Besides "hint a' magenta" always sounds cool too.
Right now, I'm staying in a house with red carpeting... -and I'm getting so sick of always vacuuming and/or always seeing crumbs and stuff on the floor. The walls are an off-white with outlines of where all kinds of pictures -tons of them, had stayed put for the last five to ten years. I think you probably should take into account about the kinds of pictures or decor you're going to put up too. The more the amount of pictures, the lighter the wall should be but there are lots of other factors too.
