I have complete control over my self and finances. It's just I don't think having pre existing mental health issues would bias their views.

I thought so, but I had to ask. Again, I apologize. I think that's why they do the letters to clear any of that up before hand. Even "normal people" have depression and anxiety, and most people can't tell I have Aspergers. I open with it, though. Just come out with it, they are going to make you jump through the letter hoop anyway, so it will resolve itself. To get a letter, you gotta see a shrink. So, I think that person will clearly understand that this is you talking and not a product of any mental illness. You got this. If you need someone to talk to, I'm here.

No good news. I just got a phone call from the hospital. They cancelled the surgery due to the corona virus. All hospitals in Germany are ordered to cancel all surgery which is not absolutely necessary at the moment. That means my nullification will be postponed at least by 2 to 3 months probably, or even a lot longer in worst case.

Yeah, that's happening all over and even for routine visits to doctors and dentists.

My dentist just called to cancel an appointment on April 1. I knew making the appointment on April fool's day was a mistake!

So sorry to hear. I thought of you immediately when I read hospitals were cancelling all elective surgeries. Hope you can get back on the schedule ASAP.

Again, thanks a lot for your kind words! I'm still feeling unhappy about the cancellation which makes daily life not easier. Still don't know when elective surgery will be possible again.

I was wondering about that as I read reviewed this thread. As they say, I think this is the new normal. In BC, Canada, some 4000+ hospital beds have been freed up as a result of cancellation of all elective surgeries. About 200+ beds are now occupied by the Covid-19 patients to date, and the 'curve' is flattening. In short and perhaps for now, hospitals are less busy than before Covid-19. I realize the experience is different and often more tenuous elsewhere.
Best of luck when your surgery occurs.

surgery is scheduled for next Thursday (04/23/2020) already.
It shows that the lockdown in Germany caused a lot of free capacity in the hospitals because there are thankfully way less Covid-19 cases with need of intensive hospital care than expected. So we are currently able to open the hospitals for elective surgery step by step again.

Glad to hear you've only been forced to live a month longer with that useless dangly flesh between your legs.
I look forward welcoming you to the club when you have the surgery. Please keep us up to date on how it goes.

Thanks a lot for all your support and nice words. In about 6 hours I will depart an start the journey to the hospital. Not sure if I will be able to give another update prior to the surgery, and I'm not sure when I am able to inform you how it went. Depends on how I feel afterwards and how good the internet connection is. So it might take a week or so before I login here again.

It's done! Since yesterday afternoon (local time) I'm a nullo. Not the first one in Germany, but maybe the first official one.
Still having some little pain, but nothing worse. Until now, the healing process is totally normal. Hope I can leave hospital until end of April.

Welcome to the club. I look forward to talking about it with you when you've recovered. Getting nullified is the best gift I ever gave myself, and I think you'll feel the same once you're over the healing process.
