Let's see - I've lost 3/8 of an inch in 50 years. I suppose it could be due to all the wear and tear of daily use....
OR probably not enough use :>)

Mine shrank while I was on depo provera. I had a small penis to begin with, maybe 6" at most. After about the first week, my penis was normally not visible, would retract inside me. If I really played with it for a while, it might grow to 2" and it was two slim inches. After I quit the depo provera, it grew back, but not to the original size, now I have 4" and most of the girth back.

Before: Length 7 1/4" Girth 6"
15 years after castration: Length 5" Girth 5"
I hope this helps. Most of the shrinkage happened in the first 5 years. I can still get hard several times a day and orgasm but don't have much desire or need to. The lack of nocturnal erections is what causes the shrinkage from what I've been told. The same effect can be seen in men wearing chastity tubes that prevent erection even with testicles intact.

I think there are too many variables. The pubic fat pad for example is larger on me then when I was younger / pre op. So reporting that I had "less" penile length might be correct but it would not be because of of my castration surgery. Its also easy to get it confused with scrotal size. Does the scrotum shrink post op? Is it because of androgens? The simple fact that its full of testicles vs not? Again? I don't know. It would be interesting to find out.
And btw please - Don't get me wrong I think its a good idea to try to dispel myths. I for one would like to know for example if anyone post orchi really has clear ejaculations? I "think" the fiction writers assume the white part of ejaculations are sperm but I can report for example that its not become clear, watery or anything but maybe more lumpy. Whats THAT about? I dunno....

For one of the academic papers on the eunuch community that has now been submitted for review for publication, one of the reviewers has made a rather snarky comment that penile shrinkage after castration is not real, but only folk belief. The only academic article that I have found to date that mentions it is by C.S.Higano (Side effects of androgen deprivation therapy: Monitoring and minimizing toxicity. Urology, 61 (2003), 32-38). When contacted about her research, she said that it was only anecdotal from talking with her prostate cancer patients who had been chemically castrated.
I would like to have some REAL data to counter the comment (and to give some real information here on the Archive).
Are there any members here who have measured their penis before and after either chemical or surgical castration? If so, what was the length before and after? And, how much time elapsed between measures? Information showing no change is just as valuable as that with change. Also needed is what sort of hormone replacement therapy (if any) you have used.
Please either post your answers below or send me a Private Message. I will tally the results and let you all know.

from wondering around looking at pics on the net,
I would have to guess yes on scrotum shrinkage, also penile shrinkage that can go right down to a nub,

I guess I'd be an exception. I've gained 1" in length since castration 8 years ago - from 5.5" to 6.5".
I'll add that I'd been diagnosed with hypogonadism and had begun testosterone replacement therapy ~6 mos prior to neutering. When I noted the growth some time later, I asked my doc, and he confirmed that one of the side effects of HRT was penile growth.
My sac has shrunk, but I can still fill it with 1 litre of salt water solution if I want.

After my stroke in 1991 my urologist stated my blood flow to my penis decreased by more than one-half. My super-small two inch penis size decreased significantly to fraction of a inch. Quite often my penis actually retracts inside my abdomon(God I just love it when it does that! I feel so feminine!). My testicles and sac also has shown a marked reduction in size. Since I am transgendered this has proven to be a god-send to say the least, since I look pretty good now in a skirt, dress. speedo, or swim suit. Full erections are now impossible, much to my delight! I have always enjoyed masturbation very much--masturbation is now a highly limpy, semi-flaccid affair at best, but not impossible. That's why an orchidotomy is so appealing to me. Well, it's been 17 years since my last rock-hard erection. Do I miss all those "wrong-time impromptu" erections? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

I have use natural anti androgen call Saw Palmetto, which act as fenateride, for 8 years. I was infact impotent during that periods but could have very few erections and I could only cum maybe twice a year with great difficulties, I don't know what my T level was at that time, my T level has been check only 1 mounth after I stop using this product and it was at 3.5 or 100. Before my penis was 5 1/2" and now it is 4 1/4" hard, it's about 25% smaller so are my testicules. Now I'm on TRT because my testicules won't produce enaugh testosterone.

Someone did a lot of research on average penile length. For what its worth
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_penis_size
I note with great satisfaction that
"the consensus is that the average human penis is approximately 12.9-15 cm (5.1-5.9 in) in length"
and "most penises are below average in size."
On a related but makes no sense to me note - I have an email from the late Dr Spector where he stated "In general, however, taking testosterone long-term would cause shrinkage of the genitalia, including penis and testicles. "
I agree 100% with the late Doc on Testicular shrinkage and I think thats well documented but why penile shrinkage?

My favorite study on penis size was done at Indiana University, the home of the Kinsey Institute. It had attractive, young, female nursing students attend fraternity parties, where they asked fraternity members their penis size and THEN asked to measure it fully erect.
The measurements were almost uniformly shorter than the claimed size....

I am a long term testosterone user and have used at very high doses. can say that high doses will increase penis girth, and if I lower the dose to something closer to normal, it does shrink down a bit closer to what it was before I ever started taking testosterone. However, it never ever gets below that size. So I disagree about tesosterone shrinking the penis. Thats like saying steroids shrink your muscles.

For years I thought men were breaking off the first two inches of their rulers. Like so many things not quite as advertised.

I tend to agree. I think people confuse testicular atrophy (Which DOES happen) with HRT with Penile shrinkage. However I think Jesus was asking about men who were snipped that do not use any testosterone which is a (possibly) different thing.

Add these numbers 69.09 now divide by how many numbers 12 that gives an average of 5.75 studies do not always reflect the truth that's why the government spends so much time and money on them

In almost 6 years since I was neutered, my penis has shrunk from about 3 inches soft and 6 hard to 2 soft and 4 hard. Also, I can only stay hard for a minute or so. Even with stimulation (sucking, masturbation), I begin to get soft, and when I have an orgasm my penis is completely soft and back to 2 inches.

I refer to Jesus' request for "real data" - one that I appreciate and share.
Not long ago a trawl through Google for something else entirely, hit on an article by a Dr W T Moore, part of a series on "The Psychoanalysis of the Child". Dr Moore's paper is called "The Impact of Surgery on Boys". Unfortunately I haven't read the whole text which is only available by subscription but if one of our more scholarly members could obtain a copy, it could provide a valuable source of "real data".
Dr Moore is one of the very few paediatric surgeons who has gone on record as having removed the testicles of preteen boys - for impeccable surgical reasons i.e. necrosis, which if untreated might have become a life threatening source of infection. He mentions two patients "Billy" and "Ben". (It is not impossible that there were others).
It is possible that Dr Moore's findings could either confirm or refute the following pieces of "folklore" which, with others, I am guilty of perpetuating in my search for a good story:
a) That the neutered boy's penis, no longer required for sex, retracts into his abdomen
b) That the change in the hormone balance stimulates a growth spurt
c) That, deprived of his testosterone source, the neutered boy becomes more placid and sweet-natured, and according to some Indian sources, more beautiful.

Like Donk, I have gone from 6 hrd to 4. Actually 10cm which comes in at 3.8.
and when soft I have shrunk from 3.5" to 2". Actually the shrinkage does not bother me.
