Everyone here likes you a lot and it's always painful to know someone you like that is hurting. We sure hope you get to feeling better soon.

I would have responded sooner but my old computer committed harakiri and my new one didn't arrive until today.
You are in my prayers and thoughts everyhour of everyday.
You will get through this. It may be difficult but you will survive because you have friends, loved ones and a senile old wolf who loves you like a sister.
Never give up. Keep thinking positive. This is just one more hurdle in your path to accomplishing your dream.
In case you need chemotherapy, I've heard if causes nausea. If so, I'll send you pix of me in shorts: that should be enough to take your mind of the chemo.
I'm thinking of you now and everyday.
Your my sister and I love you.
You will get through this.
Love,
MacWolf

having just caught this thread, it floored me,
thinking you had found some peace in your life, in transitioning, and then reading what all is happening, my heart goes out to you,
hang in there, miracles do happen

I always hesitate to respond to threads like this. They tend to freak me out. Getting *sick* is one thing, but then I hear words like cancer and I get scared. With cancer things are so much better now than long ago, and chances are better, but it is still frightening. I remember back when you were just joining us Christina - it was a time of great exploration, trial, and tension back then (definitely me, too!). You've become an *institution* around here as much as anyone. I can only tell you my heart goes to you, and I only wish you well. I feel shitty about this, but then I guess it will only make me feel all that much better when you kick ass on that stuff. Hang in there!

Well, I went to visit Christina Weds. to run to the store for her. She is still in unbearable pain. She went today (Thurs.) to get fluid removed from her lung again. It is one thing keeping her from eating, but I don't know the correct meaning as to why, so I wont put it here. Hopefully it will take a little of her pain away. Tomorrow (Fri.) I will go with her to Chemo for her second time. Please keep up the prayers everyone, she needs them. Hope this helps everyone a little. She will post I'm sure as soon as she feels up to it.
hugs, Lilac

Christina was in the chat room the other night. She did not stay long but did talk a little of what she is going through. It was not nice hearing any of it. Not going into any details other then to say it sounds very painful and depressing. Hope the draining of the fluid will lessen some of the pain. Never going through chemotherapy, I have no idea what that feels like. But what others say it is no fun. I like so many others keep praying that the chemotherapy will attack the cancer and put it in remission if not outright kill it.
Christian does have one very good thing going for her and that is a most loving person that visits and is there for her. Lilac must make the days less painful when the two are together whither in person, on the phone or on the internet. That is one great support metrics they have.
Get Well Christian

Thanks again everyone. What else can I say about Lilac except she is the sweetest best friend anyone could have.
I'm going to keep this short, I just got back about an hour ago from the hospital. The procedure they did is called a thorocentisis. Basically they stick a needle in the lung and drain fluid. It hurt a lot more this time because they didn't put me under general like last time for the biopsy. There was a good bit of pain, not really during it, but afterwards. It seems to be subsiding a little now, but I'm gonna crawl into bed for the rest of the day. Last time they removed a liter of fluid, this time it was a liter and a half.
Sorry for not posting much again, but it's been difficult for me and I hope to do more soon.

I had another round of chemotherapy today. I wasn't feeling too well went I went in this morning (from the procedure they did yesterday and just feeling lousy in general) but they gave me some anti-nausea medication and I'm feel better right now and able to get some food in me.
Next week I don't have to go to chemo, but I do have to go in for some blood tests and a consultation with the doctor. It seems that from being ill for so long they are having a hard time placing an IV in me. I used to have fairly good visible veins, but I guess from being sick a lot they have gotten harder to find. The doctor is going to talk to me about having a port surgically placed under my skin in my chest that will go into an artery. This would allow them to hook me up without have to try and find a vein each time I go in for treatment.

I have two possible solutions to finding a vein in Christina: (1) I'll send a friend of mine from the Infernal Revenue Service to go with her to the doctor next time. I hear the IRS can get blood out of a stone. (2) If that fails to work, I sent your name into the International Victims of Vampires telling them you need your blood drained. If a vampire biting nosferatu can't find a good vein, nobody can.

Christina,
Wishing you well.
It sounds that things are going faster as far as treatment is concerned, that very good. I am praying for your recovery.
You were such a nice person when we met at MOM East and we had a good time. Looking forward doing it again this Spring
Hope all of your days will get to a better Quality of Life you deserve.
Sincerely,
Tome

I want to again send my best wishes to Christina for reduced pain and success from the chemotherapy. I admire her courage and her continuing care for others. Despite all she's going through, she still took time today to post a thoughtful and encouraging response to one of my blog postings on gender clinic concerns. Many thanks, Christina. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Well, I wanted to let everyone know Christina had a doctor's appt. today. Her dad took her to this one, since it wasn't chemo, I didn't go this time. Well anyway, she had a few nose bleeds this past week, so that worried us a bit (even tho she said she has had them before) we were still worried. They did some blood tests while she was there and her blood counts were down. I don't know the names of them, but they were all off. Well the doctor asked her to stay at the hospital for some tests. So, she is in the hospital.

I don't know many details. I did just call her and she is gonna try and rest. It took a lot for me not to bust out crying on the phone, but I didn't want her to know I was upset, so I told her I'd be down tomorrow. I had planned on going to her house anyway tomorrow. I hope she gets what she needs now that she is in there. I will let everyone know how it goes tomorrow night.
As always, Lilac

Just a little update on Christina. She has not felt well at all. It's come down to her not getting around to well.

Thursday 22 of March she had to go back into the hospital from an infection she has and the doctor wants to give her stronger meds thru her viens. They finally put a *pic-line in (not sure of spelling) so she won't have to get stuck so much. Her Mom told me she was feeling better today.

She was still in intensive care when her Mom told me that. I am going to visit her Sunday (Easter) that will cheer her up a bit, I hope.

Well, hope this helps a little with any concerns about whats happening with her now.
take care, Lilac
