How many of you are sick with sinus/ear infections/bronchitis now?
Who was Typhoid Mary???!!!
I think we're up to 4 cases now.
IE and I were discussing this in the chat tonight.
I was fine until about 12 hours after I got home, then all hell broke loose. It's so bad, my sister had to bring the boys' nebulizer (breathing machine) over because I can't breathe.

Do I have to say?
I really do not want too.
I would never give myself something. I was down 3 days.
It was not the normal type of cold of flu. I did sleep very much.
I hope everyone else does not get the bug.
If you do I hope it will pass fast.
NO you can not say it was the meatloaf.

I got hit with it but not a bad case. Began on Wednesday with a scratchy throat and then on to a runny nose. Thursday more of the same as far as symptoms. Friday I was coughing a lot and by Saturday only a slight cough and today feel fine. I attributed mine to the air in the plane until I spoke with IE in chat. Small price to pay for a hell of a good time.

I heard about this outbreak from Talula yesterday. Hope everyone affected feels back to normal soon.
During MoM, I was dealing with an asthma flare-up that had started in late July. Happens every summer at about the same time when warmer, more humid days arrive. My symptoms always include coughing and wheezing but those are from the inflammation in my lungs. When co-wrokers hear me, they often assume I have a cold but that was not the case here. I had no nasal congestion, runny nose or sore throat. I have a severe mold allergy that is the usual culprit in triggering my asthma attacks.
I saw my doctor the Monday of MoM week so he could check on my progress. He checked for signs of bronchitis and found none. He always prescribes an antibiotic during my attacks to prevent secondary bacterial infections that could make the asthma worse. Antibiotics are ineffective against viruses but I had no symptoms MoM week of a cold or any other infection.
The sunny days, with low humidity, during most of MoM were terrific. I felt totally well at outdoor events like the BBQ at Kristoff's, where my asthma symptoms disappeared. Friday evening we had some rain and higher humidity and it felt like my lungs were closing up

I am fine, or as well as usual. It didn't seem to pass to me. --FLO--

I've had the sniffles a bit, starting wednesday after the mom I suppose. Today I'm feeling fine. Nothing too serious.
Nothing a bit of cold and sinus couldn't handle.

I think I'll just consider mine to be one more souvenir of the MoM. Not nearly as much fun as the other souvenirs, however.

Didn't get a thing. We're hardy stock up here in Minnesota. Watch, I'll get it this week after camping out in the wilds of some camp ground full of snot nosed kids always over petting the dogs. Twas fun anyway.

In the good news, the cold has mostly gone away. In the bad news, the cough, wheezing, etc are still here, and my voice is still shot.

Glad you are well.
Hardy stock maybe but as I remeber you are the only one I kissed the entire MoM and for entrance to the hog trough. Danya's butt was the only one I touched so I think I have narrowed it down. Next time I will touch your face and......... oh never mind. Good times, good times.

I blamed it on not having enough sleep and being on the go to much. the MoM was so much fun that I did not get a lot of rest. But I am getting better. Sore throat, runny nose, cough and a general tired feeling was all I had.

Let's be clear here. I was fully clothed when tugon touched my butt.

Make mental note for myself.. Tugon lives dangerously, he could have had his face slapped. Huh.

Sorry to hear about the bug being spread at the MoM. Maybe there was a first attendee from a different species with an interest in eunuchs.

Going a bit further, it is beginning to sound like part of this year's MoM was more like an initiation ritual, somewhat akin to what navy guys go through when they cross the equator. Hmmm, more reason to attend next year.
BB
P.S., on a sad note, as mentioned previously I was not able to attend this year due to the illness (cancer) of my only uncle. He passed away last week. While I did miss out on the fun at the MoM, I made the right choice, as undesired as it was.

Went to the Dr. this morning.
By then, all the Sudafed, etc., had worn off overnight.
I nearly went to sleep waiting, too.
My vitals were BP 90/60
Temp. 95.4
Pulse 88
Weight - 150 (at 5'8.5")
Respiration - normal but wheezing - some bronchitis on left side.
He then asked me if I felt dead, since I was statically going into shock.
Then I blew out some stuff from my nose as a sample and spit up a hairball for him. He immediately wrote up a prescription for a Z-pac and Albuterol and said, "Yeah, it's bacterial, next time I'll take your word for it. I didn't want to see that."
For those that have it installed, it was the color of a Limewire icon for PC. Or you could blend the gold stars here with the green boxes, and toss in a bit of blood.
Then we moved onto my ears, where he rinsed out a nice pile of bloody black stuff that looked like potting soil mixed with grease and informed me I had a major ear infection and that my throat was a mess. (I once had this done when I was 4, and had to be sedated after being chased down and hauled back in kicking and screaming!)
The good news is my blood sugar isn't at all high and I was told not to lose any more weight...hehe
So much for that 5 lbs. I gained at the MOM! Sorry, Bobbie and Riverwind...not that you're not excellent cooks! I just don't maintain weight.
He then offered me a sample of Cialis. I politely declined, stating that I didn't much need or want that. (I didn't mention B.O.B.)
But I did get a sample of allergy/nasal spray that'll last a while, and pretty much all the albuterol and sugar testing strips I can ever use.
I also got a prescription for Chantex, to stop smoking. It's gonna be a while before I can get that one filled, though.
The good news is that it seems that I'm gonna live.

And you think for a second that we would let you die? WRONG. I bet Kristoff would have a lot to say about that. You are needed here.

Mine flared up again last night and has bothered me through today. I bought a bottle of B complex + C and that seems to help. I learned about the importance of B at the MoM. Thanks P. Tomorrow I expect to be healthy but if not it was still worth it.

My mom, roommate, and manager-i-dont-like managed to all quit using Chantex. My roomie mentioned that it gave him interesting dreams... abnormal dreaming is a listed side effect.
If you use chantex, good luck to you.
You may want to check in your area for financial assistance available for chantex. Mom got some prescription assistance for the drugs -- unsure how. I'll have to get details next time I talk to her. My roomie, If I recall, had work pick up the entire tab for the cost of the drug. He didn't have to even pay his drug copay.

Glad to hear you are well taken care of by your doc. My crud came back last night and today. I see my doctor a week from today and if I still have it I will cough up something for him. Anything to make his day special, want some sputum doc?
Glad to hear about the help to stop smoking. I look forward to seing you at MoM's as a cranky old evil overlord. I bought a patch to help me stop overeating. Instructions were 1. remove backing to expose adhesive. 2. press upper lip against lower lip. 3. apply patch over lips. I will let you know how it works.

Abnormal dreams would be nice, IF I sleep, that is.
With all the stress lately, though, I don't know that it's going to work.

Get Well Everyone!!

I only had a bit of congestion with a little cough, but I am fine. Tugon, (LOL) love that new patch you mentioned.
Take Care and Big Hugs, Lilac
