I went to BME this morning and discovered the old version has been replaced with the new version. Alas, there are several links that do not work.

I'm glad the galleries have page numbers again, this was worrying me when i tried the beta version and there were no page numbers.
lets just hope we get regular updates again, the extreme and hard galleries haven't been properly updated for months, makes me wonder if the people submitting their photos have lost faith and regular contributions will be far less and fewer now than before.
I don't have a video account, and before, bme video had thumbnail pics and updates which were visible to non subscribers, so when i saw some interesting thumbnails, i subscribed and was able to view them, but now we can't see what bme video has to offer, and this puts me off wanting to subscribe, just in case theres nothing interesting or new on it!
in my view, there wasn't anything wrong with the old bme site, this new site is much less user friendly, but i guess we'll have to get used to it.

My review - the new site is incredibly slow, even on a broadband connection. They need to fix that. It may look slick and be all wonderful when the writers view it locally on their machine directly attached to the server, but when you navigate that site remotely via the Internet it loads up like you're using a dial-up service.
That needs to be fixed, pronto.
They also seem to be more interested in Tattoos now over anything else. Those sections get updates almost daily but anything in the hard or surgical section fails to get updates. I know there is stuff being submitted (it was before, and getting updated) but the new owners seem only interested in tattoos. *shrugs*

New Owners?
I went to the site, I was not impressed, it is only a shell of what it once was.

New owners, as in not Shannon Larratt.

Yes, and since he's been gone the site has not received the attention it once did, and the focus is seemingly now on tatooing instead of all mods (including tattooing). Oh well.
I think it's close the being a case of the strangling the goose that laid the golden egg. *shrugs*

Trouble is, they strangle the goose, they also strangle the EA.

I have been engaged in extensive correspondence with BME and whilst the new regime have been as helpful as can be, I still have to report too many bugs for comfort. Most of the problems seem to be in the subscription department- I have paid every month since 1997 and even this year paid twice! The program demands an upgrade (more money) to see the video and some of the hard content, but even after paying the extra, it still fails to recognise me and locks me out. I just cannot go straight to the Eunuch pics anymore and there are no videos (used to be 34 at the last count) in all sorry to say a bit of a mess. The program is very unstable indeed, and I for one am very sorry to see how things have gone. None the less I will continue to throw my money in the BME direction for two reasons, one Jan has promised to make it all better soonest, and also because of the support the BME gives to our Archive. It has got to be worth it for that, but I can't see us getting the heady Shannon days back, shame!

Well, since I wrote that, I just went straight into the program with no problems! No video or text stories, but at least the eunuch photo albums are back- small mercies..........

I looked at the site briefly and didn't see the place where you can get membership time by submitting photos or stories? Has anyone done this yet?

I don't understand why there have been no members updates i.e surgical and hard galleries for months, yet non members i.e mild mods such as tatoos are getting much more attention to updates, shouldn't they be serving the paying members first?

I think Kristoff raises a good point.
We can decide for ourselves whether or not we like the new BME site but we should also should be mindful of the fact that they are kind enough to host the EA. I wouldn't want them to think we don't appreciate it.

I understand from BME that you can upload to the galleries and on the home page click on general help and it explains the process.
I am pleased to add that the site is improving daily and I now have access to Eunuch images and text . I would agree that Eunuchs are under represented far more than was the case in Sharatt's time, but the position is definately improving albeit a long way to go yet. Jen Savage has been very good and has replied to my somewhat lengthly E mails with plenty of details which has been very helpful in sorting out problems. They seem to be working on it and preserving all the old material but it has been categorised somewhat differently than previously so you have to hunt around. Yes, things can only get better but personally I have promised my continued support as they in turn do support our archive.

Who, if anyone is actually getting entertained by the new bme site?
I am finding it as boreing as watching paint dry!
On the old site we used to have weekly updates on the extreme galleries with plenty of new pics each week in the male genital meato, partial sub, full sub, bisection, etc. etc. galleries, but now we are only getting maybe a half a dozen pics per month in only one gallery!
the bisection gallery has not been updated since December as well as several others and if they have its only for a small amount of pics, in some cases only one or two.
this crap has been going on for a nearly half a year, will it/can it recover?
Anyone know what's going on? bme seem very proud of their new site, but with a lack of updates for paying members, they will lose support very quickly.
Has bme had it's day?

Maybe nobody's submitting bisection pictures?
Just like here, they can only post what gets submitted. I do get the feeling, though, that a large number of those who left the site after the changeover were those who were into the heavier modifications.

It is true, Shannon updated the whole site every couple days, his ex who now runs it updates it when ever, to never. it is a shell of its self, a once great site is now just about dead.

they dont offer a chance to sample anything that is there
they expect patrons to shell out cash to blindly see what is there
most wont do it

His ex suffers with Multiple Sclerosis. A lot of what is done depends on the day to day state of her health.

I am pleased that the situation is out in the open as I did not want to betray a confidence, we will never see the heady days of Shannon again, but although only a shadow I am confident that they are doing their best and still need our support, and above all, our patience. I have supported BME since before 1997 and will continue to do so even if I am getting very little for my money, but they do support this Archive- and that's good enough for me! By the way, any of of members with images could upload them especially as Eunuchs have had no image update since January.

Has anybody succeeded in uploading new pictures to the new BME site? I tried, but failed. The add picture page loaded with errors. If you have succeeded, please explain the procedure.
I like the ability to log on and see all of the pictures that I have added to BME. I logged on via the "General help and questions" link on the bottom of the intro page, which is a bit awkward and not obvious.
I completely agree with Quillman. WE ALL need to continue to support BME.

sw1911sc, I have finally succeeded in uploading photos to the new BME (male chastity section). It was not an easy or pleasant task. I also uploaded photos to another section, which are not for the faint of heart...
Also, I'd be very curious to contact you... I wish you were reachable. I have questions about my eventual penectomy and especially how you got a professional to do it.

From the looks of it, BME is much smaller then it was a few years ago. I looked up castration which had 1000's of photos which now has 29.
Every time I go to that site it is less then the last time I looked, it makes me wonder how much longer they will be in business and that brings about another question is how long we can survive without a Host.
