First time banding

Banded my balls for the first for 20 minutes last night. The pain when masturbating was exquisite and the orgasm took a long time to stop.
How long can a band be left on before damage occurs and potential blood clotting/poisoning. Am not worried about the damage as I have no use for my penis or testicles but am concerned about the the damage that I could do to my body due to blood poisoning.

It is really not well known what is a safe duration. At some point the blood will start to die and become potentially dangerous if it reenters your bloodstream.
In terms of time it takes for testicle death, that is actually pretty well known. If you look up salvagability medical research related to testicular torsion, it seems that testicles can last several hours (they're pretty tough) and have only a 50% chance of dying if fully restricted from blood for 12 hours. You pretty much need 24 hours to be guaranteed to be castrated. This is three to four times as long as other flesh like a hand could survive without blood.
Note that these times are for the testicles themselves. The scrotal skin will die much faster, like normal skin, after only a couple hours.
I personally have banded up to two hours, but couldn't stand to go longer. I didn't die or have any known clotting problem, but I really don't know how much danger I was in (maybe there were clots and I was lucky). I do know that taking off the banding was extremely painful and that I got some permanent scarring where the banding was. Everything else seemed to have recovered more or less.
I think a lot of people stick with a half hour or less for recreational banding.

Each time you band some damage is done if left on for longer than a few minutes. The damage adds up each time, depending on the frequency and length of banding you will become first sterile and then an early case of hypogonadism, low testosterone. In my case the damage caused hypogonadism by my late 40's, I started banding in my teens.

from time to time i'm enduring banding by a top, before. but the thing isn't longer than two minutes or three indeed (five in the worst case). in the last days he didn't make it anymore. And it already hurts a little.

If you don't mind a blood clot forming, and then breaking loose, flowing into your brain, and causing a stroke, they have at it. Of all the fun loving CBT things one can do, this, and burdizzo, are probably the two that are to be avoided.

Hi there,
I dont know how others do it but I banded for years with an elastrator and also heavy rubber bands. The bands got painful on my scrotum after a while and I found that summerging the area in iced water waould cause the whole area to go numb. Went as long as 4 hours at a time. They always came back without problem but gradually over time the balls started to shrink and reduce in size and at the same time my testosterone levels dropped likewise. ie a self-induced case of hypogonadism which happily occurred at the same time I had my prostate removed (cancer) After a while no more erections but also started losing muscle mass and libido went to about 0. Also some loss of cognitive function and memory problems Talked with my Dr and on his advise am now on a steady diet of testosterone to maintain about normal level in the bloodstream. This reduced the mental problems and memory loss and picked up my muscle strength considerably as well as improving my overall health and well being. One side effect has been more prolific growth of body hair which also darkened from grey to pitch black over most of my body. It has been an interesting journey and I feel better and more capable than I have for years and although now over 70 am still reasonably strong and fit so don't have any regrets. Aslo my health has been better and cholesterol levels are quite low probably due to diet as much as anything else and haven't been sick for several years .
Right now I think I am effectively a eunuch and like the thought of being able to manage my testosterone levels through the injections (every 2 months) for both my health and well being. I regularly check my T levels with blood tests before the next shot is due and increase or reduce the frequency of shots accordingly. Testicles are slowly shrinking more and more but nobody misses them and they are pretty tough and less painful to a knock or blow so I am happy that I have got to where I am at. I am able to manage my T levels to keep up my strength and especially my mobility which picked up also with the shots. There had been no noticeable effect on libido one way or the other as the T levels fluctuate over the injection cycle which goes against the perception that high T = aggression. In my case not noticeable effect either way within the range my levels move.
Cant say why I went after damaging them as I have. it was a cumpulsive urge that every once in a while I indulged in. BTW I am pretty sure that banding has cumulative effects and that frequent serious banding will eventually make them pretty much non-functional over a period of time OTOH it may just be age creeping up on me.
P.S. I think the ice helped manage the damage I am also pretty sure that if I wasn't icing them that they would have just died with gangrene a distinct possibility. For what it is worth I would probalby still do it if I had my life over again and knew what I know now

Francis,
You might want to try compounded testosterone, it comes in a cream form and you just rub a little dime size amount onto and into your skin. This, in my opinion, helps maintain a more consistent amount of "t" in your body. You can "google" it and you can look for a pharmacy or apothecary in your area that mixes it for you. Certainly ask your doctor about it and also there's a pellet form of testosterone which you can have injected under your skin that lasts more than 3 months.

Francis, from my experience banding of the testicles can be done for many, many years without much of a problem, but as you can see from other posts, there may be cumulative damage over the yaers. The fortunate part of that is as we age are needs are generally less.
The motives are different for each of us, but there is a tremendous pleasure and an intense orgasm and ejaculation from it. I frequently have left bands on for up to 30-40 minutes without serious problems. The balls do turn a very dark shade, get cold and insensitive to the touch, pressure or blows. The cords can be sore for a few hours afterwards.

I have heard that the penis is more resilliant to banding by about a factor of two, but I don't know if this is an urban rumor or not. Furthermore I don't know if the other scare factors, blood clots etc. are constant or less severe in the case of penis banding than testicular banding.

I have to say it's most likely ab "Urban Myth".

Since about 15 I have always had one large ruptured testicle which means that my scrotum is quite large.
I have sleeves made of layered cardboard impregnated with resin about 3cm deep and about 16cm in circumference, which can just but only just, and with some effort , enable my largest testicle, smallest testicle and shaft be pulled through one at a time, sometimes this is not possible so I then use a larger ring. The result of this is to push the organs in front of the body, comfortable and as I always wear very loose clothes unnoticeable, I think it is aesthetically nice as does my wife, in the earlier sexual stage of our relationship I made love with it on. It was never for all the time but as the mood took me and then it could be left on for weeks at a time.
I have also always banded in the conventional sense, do not really understand the psychology behind it. Cannot say that it induces a "better" orgasm, maybe it did but they always seemed good whether banded or not. Started in my teens and carried on more or less ever since. I restrict the scrotum at its base enough for it to go blue and have thought nothing of leaving it on for hours. All has survived! Maybe it has lowered my testosterone level, it certainly has not reduced the size of my testes, if it has lowered testosterone then god knows how I would have coped without doing it.

I have been banding for many years now, with no signs of damage, maybe luck, maybe the next time will be the one where I have a problem. But for me this is a secondary thought as the thrill of releasing that tiny little band around my scrotum is too great to think of anything else. I always have a very powerful orgasm whilst banded, love the feel of my balls as they grow heavy, dark in colour and very cold. After 20 to 25 mins max. I remove the band. I do not cut, I put some lube on the scrotum, and work a finger under the band, tricky but can be done, then a second finger, and simply slide band off the scrotum. A lot less pain than cutting it off. Hope on e day to become a eunuch, but I know that banding whilst good for play and fantasy is not the way to go. Unless there is finally some cumulative effect that lowers my T levels enough to consider job done, but I won't hold my breath.

It is true that the flesh of the penis can go much longer without blood flow and oxygen. This makes sense because it needs to be able to withstand being flaccid.
However, even if the flesh doesn't die from lack of oxygen the banding could still cause damage to the corpus cavernum (the spongy part in the shaft that gets erect), causing curvature and such.
