Lack of Energy

One of the most common side effects of being castrated is a lack of energy. I drink a lot more coffee than before to try to compensate a bit.

My question for the members here is what do you do for extra energy?

Caffeine - the 100% pure, natural, organic substitute for sleep....

Typically a French Press made 24oz mug... I prefer dark roast, and generally go for the cheap stuff, grocery store brand, or Chock Full o' Nuts (which seems ironic some how.... )

I have found my lack of energy is do to a lack of motivation.
So, if I want to do more, I do more. The body gets used to it, and that becomes the new normal. The hard part is getting going.
Look around at all the things you want to do. Pick something small, or pick a small task that is part of something larger. Do it. Then do the next one, and so on, dividing up the tasks into something small and doing that, and moving on.

I know it sounds silly, but it works for me. Maybe it will work for you.

Coffee wouldn't works fine if you put sugar in it !
I use to drink a cup of coffee just after dinner and I'm ready for a nap !

Take vitamin C

And for a good motivation try to find out new activities you didn't experienced before.

This is a good question, I have recently given up coffee for a number of reasons, yes I know an Aussie who lives in Melbourne has given up coffee, I use to have between 3 - 6 cups a day.

Since stopping I have noticed less energy but at the same time for my health it's a good thing but I have not found anything to replace it excluding energy drinks which taste horrible and as they give you energy they eat your teeth.

Thank you for the input everyone. Looks like coffee is still the winner. French Press tastes great and can be made pretty strong. Light roast has more caffeine than dark roast I've learned.

I'd like to find some alternatives to coffee. I agree that energy drinks aren't so great. Is there any type of food or vitamins that give an energy boost?

First come to mind is Ginseng. It may have a small amount of blood thinning properties so it may not be the best supplement if you're on a blood thinner like Eliquis, Xarelto, or warfarin.

I don't think there are many other foods / vitamins that are particularly good for an energy boost if one is already getting enough of whatever in your regular diet. Sugary / high carb stuff will give a short term boost, but then that is followed by a crash, and is unhealthy otherwise.

Good nutrition is essential but quality of life must not be neglected. A good sleep and regular exercise are necessary for proper functioning of the body and brain.

I remember how I was when I used to go to the pool twice a week just for a short swimming and relaxing in a jacuzzi. I had a better slumber and I had more enthusiasm to do things.
