I was a regular for quite awhile but left to do my own thing. It worked for awhile but now I'm back where I was with the difference of having been castrated. Due to not being able to function at a level I needed to without HRT I went on it and am back to being the old me again. My GP doesn't really get the wanting low T.

Welcome home. The good news is that rub on generic testosterone gel is now on the market. There are two generic versions of Androgel out there. One is made by the same company as Androgel and is still expensive.

The other is made by Perrigo and is about 1/8th the cost of the brand name Androgel.

GoodRx has a coupon for about $108 for three bottles (each bottle has 60 pumps which is a moths supply for most men who use 2 pumps a day). If you get a GoodRx coupon for testosterone gel 1.62% and the pharmacist says the price is wrong to make sure they are looking for the gel made by Perrigo.

I had a friend go through this recently and as soon as he mentioned the manufacturers' name, the pharmacy found the gel at $108 for three months supply.

You are giving out lots of very helpful info. Such as this cost of T replacement that any man or eunuch needs to know. I m guessing its still by prescription only, under the false excuse of keeping men from abusing it, even if any athlete or bodybuilder from high school on up can get ahold of it from unconfirmed sources and purity by non prescription black market methods in the US ?

Did you find the GoodRx coupon? Once we found out who made it, it was a great price.

Doctors Rx Testosterone and check levels in the blood and the liver. If levels are too high bad on the prostate and if liver goes south bad on the whole body. I don't think the liver is one of the optional bits like gallbladder, appendix or foreskin.

It is not just prescription only, but because of anabolic steroid abuse, it is also a schedule III controlled substance with all the hassle that entails.

If the 1.62% (20.25mg) is more than you want, there is another testosterone pump that delivers only 10mg per pump. It is FORTESTA and comes in a 60 g pump for 120 metered pump actuations. I am on it and it works well for me. Anyone wanting low T might investigate this product. It is mfd by Pharbil WaltropGmbH for Endo Pharmacauticals,, Inc in Malvern PA. This is considered a generic version by my insurance.

No, it won't.

The effects are what happens to athletes and body-builders who go on steroids. Testosterone is the prime steroid used for that.

So consider it like the results of steroid abuse.

In the short term, you would be extra horny and get more and harder erections more often than normal, and more overall energy, power feelings, and optimism than normal. But as soon as your pituitary gland detects any higher than normal T levels in your blood, that are higher than your individual target T levels that are set and maintained by each man s pituitary gland, that gland will tell your balls to reduce your balls natural T production. This is what shrinks men s balls if they take extra T long enough to turn their own testosterone and sperm production off temporarily or permanently. Testosterone can be used to stop sperm production completely. But it has lots of side affects and the men trying it for male birth control experiments didn t like having shrunken balls from it.

If a man takes enough added T for a long enough time, it can turn off his testosterone production and sperm production permanently. And that can sometimes be kick started back into production in the short term by certain drugs, but the effect is only temporary and decreases the longer time period that those drugs are used, until he is back to being a sterilized eunuch again.

Yes, short term you will be hornier and have more erections. But you won t know how long is too long for your individual body before it backfires and turns your balls off partially or completely. Athletes and bodybuilders cycle on and off artificial T and steroids to try to prevent permanent damage. The bodybuilder websites have lots of detailed advice on what they try and how they do it. But its at a risk to your balls.

Probably healthy young men can take more artificial T manipulation than older men or men with weak balls, read smaller testicles or lower natural production levels or lower target T levels, that don t have as much room for error or shrinkage as big, healthy, young balls can handle. But who knows how it affects men s balls years later if they get stressed at a young age and the damage only shows up later as their testicle functions naturally decline with age ?

Since each man is so different, other men s experiences might not be what you end up with.

I'm an eunuch and am on HRT high doses of testosterone also cause red blood cell production causing your blood to thicken because of the increased blood cells and can cause a blood clot and stroke. The longer you are on it your testicles atrophy and damage happens in boby builders it is common to become sterile and loose the ability to produce natural testosterone also long cycles can sometimes make it impossible to restart your testicles even if you go through the recommended post cycle protocol of drugs. I'm in the care of a licensed endocrinologist and get regularly scheduled testosterone, estrogen and blood levels checked and they regulate my weekly injections it's something you shouldn't mess with on your own that's why testosterone is a regulated drug and needs a prescription to get.
