Dave, a long-time and very active member of the Eunuch Archive community, passed away on August 12th at age 72. He had been in decline for about a year and many of our recent telephone conversations had been from his hospital bed.

Dave joined the Archive in 2001 and made over 5,300 posts over the years.

Dave had been confined to a motorized wheelchair since an accident on his 21st birthday. He worked for over 30 years in a federal research lab and has scholarly publications in chemical engineering where I can't even understand the titles. Dave also published a number of short stories in various science fiction anthologies and about 40 stories on the Fiction Archive here.

For at least a short while, many of Dave's non-Archive stories will be available on his website at http://fragments.ws (http://fragments.ws). The anthologies will continue to be available through Amazon and other booksellers.

I've moved his membership into the Remembrance group.

Obviously a very sharp guy. People like him are impressive who have something like an accident confining them to a wheel chair from 21 on and still manage to contribute so much. Hat off and head bowed.

Very sad to hear this news. He's one of the longest term members of the archive, and he'll be missed.

Dave always seemed to have interesting and useful things to say, I'm sure he will be missed by many of us, myself included.

May the Nature Spirits guide him home;

may the Honored Dead welcome him among them;

may the High Ones grant him rest, and rebirth in due time.

He was a really good guy. Not to mention from the Pittsburgh area where I grew up and lived most of my life until a few years ago.

Sorry to hear of Dave's passing, I always enjoyed reading his stories.

Wow, I don't think this place will ever be "this place" again without Dave. It seems an unexpectedly shocking loss to me, I really valued his opinions and thoughts. Seriously, Dave will be missed.
