Discussion regarding prostate removal?

Back again with my roundabout questions. As stated in my previous posts. I'm not entirely keen on the idea of undertaking major genital modification. Besides my hopeless search for some kind of "subtle" induced impotence procedure, I find myself once again reading on the countless solutions for erectile dysfunction and the list of causes. Then It occurred to me. Prostate cancer and subsequently prostate removal surgery is usually a cause for ED. I understand it's anything but subtle in the means of invasive surgery, but considering the prostate is entirely inside the body, who's going to know its not there anymore. Has anyone here had the procedure done? Furthermore, has anyone had it voluntarily, or as part of another form of nullification? I highly doubt many doctors would remove a healthy prostate, especially for someone so young in my age bracket. Once again, I recognize that it is a complex surgery to have done. I have also read that recovery is lengthy and incontinence is common. My interest resides in the side effects; possibility of erectile dysfunction, reduced libido, changes or inability to orgasm.

It came up as a subject a few times back on EAv2, and general consensus was that it's a really bad idea - major nasty side effects or risks of them, including incontinence. OTOH they keep trying to make the procedure better so as NOT to cause ED....

As I understand the usual procedures they don't usually remove the prostate in full nullo surgeries, even when removing the penis root. I believe the standard practice is not even to remove it when doing full binary reassignment surgery.

As a possible alternative, have you looked at any of the "Androgen Deprivation" drugs that are used in treating hormone responsive Prostate Cancer? I've been following a PC patient's substack and he is very bummed out about the results of his treatment, as in ED, lack of libido etc... But it sounds a lot like what you say you are wanting.

Somewhat amusingly the drug he was given has one of the most ironically appropriate names I've ever heard given its effects... He's on "Firmagon" which seems like exactly what it does....

Prostate removal is a major surgery. I wouldn't advise that at all if not necessary. On the other hand, If you get an orchiectomy, it's a simple outpatient procedure. Also, they can replace your testicles with prosthetic testicles inside your scrotum that look and feel like the real thing. So you get the benefits you seek and no one will know the difference.

Agreed about the simple orchie, although what I've noticed here on EA, is that many, if not most seem to not get prosthetics, and many opt for having the scrotum removed as well... From what I've heard the choice for prosthetics is more popular among those losing their balls from accidents or medical causes where it wasn't the patient's choice...

At least in our voluntary desired choice, there is frequently an element of discomfort / dislike of having anything there, thus wanting to get rid of the appearance of having those bits. Note all the discussion of how it looks... I've also seen some reports from those that got just an orchie that they found the empty scrotum was a bit of a bother, sweaty, and tending to get pinched and caught in clothing, etc. This caused many to opt to get it removed later, or at least want to... I've heard the same thing about some of those that opt for prosthetics - they may look and feel real, but they don't act the same in terms of getting 'adjusted' by the cords and such.

It is why I opted to get the orchie and scrotum removal at the same time. Just one recovery, less hassle w/ getting insurance to cover, and presumably more comfortable....

I had the option for prosthetics if I wanted them, but unfortunately, not for a scrotectomy. I think the last thing any self-respecting eunuch would want is fake balls.

Probably a huge mental health aid though for those who lost theirs either by accident or sickness.
