My name is Kristian, I’m 51 years old and I live in Estonia. For several years I’ve been researching and quietly following discussions about castration and nullification, and now I’ve decided it’s time to take active steps toward my own goal: to live as a post-op nullo.

For me, this decision is about personal authenticity, comfort in my own body, and living in a way that feels right to me. I have no doubts about the path I want to take, but I’m eager to learn from those who have already walked it — especially regarding preparation, surgery options, and recovery.

My first advice is to start by reading the WPATH "Standards of Care Version 8" which has been translated into many languages besides English, with the list of them here :https://wpath.org/publications/soc8/translation/ (leave off the translation bit to get the English version) I advise reading the entire thing, but particularly the Eunuch and Mental Health chapters.

The other big question is what services are available to you in Estonia. It MAY be necessary to do medical tourism to someplace outside of your country. Much depends on the politics and general area attitude towards non-standard gender choices, and unfortunately Estonia doesn't get much attention in the US so I don't really know how things stand there.

If you do have to travel, several of the members here and on the former site got their surgeries done by Dr. Aguilar in Mexico, and have said he does excellent work at fairly reasonable prices, and has a good system for providing support care, hotel rooms, and so on. He also works on an "informed consent" basis, so allows bypassing a lot of the SOCv8 hoops. Downside is he does not do insurance so it is an out of pocket expense.

Added, I have done a bit of looking, and it does look like Estonia is relatively good in terms of LGBT+ being OK, and there seem to be options for doing binary M-F transitions, you will need to reach out to your local support groups such as https://www.lgbt.ee/ to find out about how possible it is to get a nullification surgery.
