Forgot to make a post here about it at the actual day of my anniversary (September 21), but here I am. It's been 1 year since my surgery, which is crazy to think because it honestly doesn't feel like it's been that long!

Unfortunately I didn't really do much of anything that day... always a next time I suppose ?

Always next year - they ain't gonna grow back!

Just seems to me like one of those days that should be commemorated as being special, and cake is so boring...

Oh I definitely want to make the occasion special

As for cake, it really depends on the cake... but I do also love ice cream so... a sweet little treat for the occasion would still be nice in my opinion

I agree on the sweet, which is why I included the malted milk balls in the menu... Last year I did the fancy foil-wrapped truffles (Ferrer Rocher, or something like that?) that are like miniature cannon balls... Might also consider some sort of chocolate / candy covered nuts (almonds?) as a doubly symbolic option...
