the male ego vs. the eunuch ego

We were having a great discussion on the topic of FaceBook groups.
As good discussions go, many things were discussed as the threads rambled around.
"Are eunuchs' egos as fragile as intact mens' egos? I guess the question assumes men have fragile egos and by extension, so do eunuchs.
Eunuchs art not in competition for the sexual attention of women. So there is none of that 'showing off' stuff that goes on.
We don't have anything to prove.
Ideas?

Well, it seems to me that a huge amount of that male showing off boils down to trying to prove ones "superiority" at whatever in an effort to get female attentions... Whether it is a 'sexy car' (how many guys try to pick up chicks while driving a mini-van?) or skin tight shirts showing off the pecs, or waving lots of money around, elaborate grooming, and so on the bottom line usually amounts to "will this get me laid?"
Once the guy has caught (or been caught by (is there a difference?)) a partner most usually lose a lot of the more conspicuous showing off - they call this "settling down" - but really it also amounts to not having to 'prove' superiority - his lady proves that he succeeded....
The ego puncturing usually boils down to showing that the superiority being claimed is not as great as it is advertised as being... Either he gets rejected by the ladies, or some other guy beats him in the superiority game...
As M-d said, as eunuchs we aren't really in that competition, so nothing to prove, and nothing to really take away from us...
As a side note, looking back at my life, I never really played those 'guy games' of superiority, as I thought they were mostly rather silly and pointless... I'd always pick the boring utilitarian vehicles. I got good basic clothes not fashionable ones. I basically didn't spend money on cosmetic products. I wasn't interested in risking injury playing sports, and so on... I also wasn't all that interested in women from a sexual standpoint - I liked the idea of partnering with one, but it wasn't a priority, and certainly wasn't worth a lot of sacrifices in other parts of my life to get... Perhaps that was an aspect of what I now see as my unrecognized desire to be a eunuch...

With no libido present, "showing off" for women isn't a thing for me, but I'm just as competitive as ever in other things. I participate in golf, chess, ping pong, etc., and winning is certainly good for my ego.
Considering the lack of respect eunuchs get, I'm sure losing to a eunuch would crush a lot of male egos. I really love beating full males - who are expected to be superior to so-called incomplete people. lol

I guess a lot of it isn't showing off, as it is the self satisfaction of "I done good

" The question is more what happens when one doesn't win - is it a gross personal affront or more of a "guess I'll have to try harder next time"
Look at a lot of what's considered sportsmanship - it seems to me that a great deal of it boils down to not damaging the loser's ego to badly if winning, and at least pretending not to be totally devastated if you lose...
(Ironically it seems that this thread seems to be about the superiority of the eunuch ego!)

I would not go straight to Eunuchs having an Ego but it is understandable with what eunuchs go through just to become who they are.
Only way I can look at what my life has been like is to look at my intact and straight brothers.
Even as a full male between I preferred to be with men and never did any of the show boating that can come with being a gay male, but I found my partner at 21 and settled down quickly.
My brother's on the other had always complained about going on dates and the ladies not liking the way they would show off. They are both now married and settled but this happened much later for them. Same sort of thing with my intact male friends.
I may be reading to much into it but know I was asexual and an eunuch from a young age I feel it allowed me to relax and be myself.
