I have recently gotten a PM from a new user asking for personal information about my motivations for becoming a eunuch, where I got it done, and other questions for "Research Purposes"

The user's profile says he's been registered for about a month, but has not made any forum posts.

This may be legitimate, however it trips my 'mod-alert' warning to get requests for personal information from someone that hasn't made himself known to the community.

Those who were around on EAv2 for a while may remember, there was a bit of history of reporters coming in and asking for personal information that ended up being used in 'attack pieces' that sometimes caused difficulties for the persons answering the questions...

If any of you have been getting PM's from users you don't recognize that are asking for personal information, I'd like to know about it. (please forward it to me as a PM)

I would also advise being cautious about what you choose to divulge.

As I said this may be legitimate, but until I feel more comfortable with this persons motives, I'd advise caution.
