Bboy Update:The Memorial Show

There has been a lot of interest in listening to Bboy's memorial show and I have gone through it and prepared it for you all. However, for some odd reason, one that no one seems to have ever seen, the Archive will just not download files such as this. Graciously, Shannon has placed the memorial show on BME and that URL is:
http://www.bmezine.com/temp/bboy/bboy_memorial.mp3
Everyone is welcome to download the file no matter thier status with BME membership.
The file is 38 megs in length so expect some download time. On that recording you will hear the owner of the radio station and myself speaking of bboy along with clips of bboy himself. You will also hear missing spots where I removed the audio to protect bboy, bboy's family, or myself. I also cut out the traffic report and some commercials which I am sure you will appreciate.
It is my sincere hope that you all enjoy the memorial show, broadcast Oct 29, 2004. Please feel free to make any comments positive or negative.

p.s. If anyone knows the actual name of our theme song, please pass it along to me as I never knew.

An addition to the Memorial Show: Prelude
The owner of the radio station (Dan) was really very upset, and was very concerned if he and I could do the show. He asked me if we should really do this this, I said we should, he said "then lets do it!" and we tromped into the studio.
The show is timed so that Bboy and I have a short time after work to compose ourselves then jump in front of the microphones, so for myself it was finish work, jump in front of the microphone, change clothes in the station's bathroom then drive to his memorial service. There was exactly one hour after Dan and I finished the show before we had to be 30 miles away and ready for the next stage of the day.
Dan was almost in tears as the theme song spun up and you can kind of hear it in his voice as the show opens. I was thinking that perhaps he was correct that maybe we shouldn't air because I was about to tip over myself and you can hear that in my voice. However the show must go on.
Dan and I work together well I think (as did bboy, Dan, and myself) so we composed ourselves rapidly while live on the air and started to really have fun. You can hear this in the broadcast. During commercial breaks we started laughing uncontrollably at some of the fun we had together.
The show ended and the station went to CNN. We were both happy with the show.
Dan is such a professional and such a pleasure to work with.
Bboy is such a professional and such a pleasure to work with.
The show is going on. Now called the "Gidget and Gadget show". It will continue as long as we can do it-always with bboy in memory, but as he said "the show must go on".

p.s. bboy died Oct 27, 2004. His fiance's father died Nov 5, 2004.

Ants, ants, and more ants. It was wonderful to hear Bboy's voice again, even if only for a brief bit. Thank you for posting the show.

When I heard Bboy's voice, I first thought that was listening to a recording of my own voice. I appreciated hearing him speak. Thank you again for sharing this program.

Hearing the radio show was quite interesting. In Minnesota, when one has difficulty explaining their thoughts without hurting ones feelings, they say, 'Now thats interesting!'
I loved hearing the show and you know, Tal's voice was quite impressive. Bboy's on the other hand, was a bit distored on the call in to the show.
My favorite point in the show was Bboy suggesting he was being 'Trashed' when he couldn't make the show live and called in. I just love his humor. The next best point in the show was Tal's dislike of ants and B's comment about 'Stinging, Biting Ants.'
Thanks Tal for finding a way for us to hear this show...

Yeah, so unless there are stinging, biting fire ants crawling all over you...
ROFLMAO!
That was great.

Oh man....my greatest sympathies toward his friends and family. This is a great shock to me. I have been visiting the Archive for the past six years. Although I haven't posted much, I've gotten the opportunity to see bboy's awesome personality. He's at peace right now.....free of life's pain. But like always, the show must go on. He would definately want it that way.

Yes, I too enjoyed the memoral show, living here with talula, I have herd it many times and still enjoy hearing it. Bboy did have a wonderful gift to say the right thing at the right time, " I just might be going a tad over the posted speed limit".
We all miss you Bboy

So just to clarify, it was from his asthma and had nothing to do with his going through becoming a eunuch?
This is so shocking. I feel bad about going on hiatus from the site as I have ... from the brief time I was active I do remember Bboy warmly and vividly. It seems like every time I turn around ...
And his fiance also lost her father just days later? Gawds.

Bboy was not a eunuch.

bboy's interest was nearly always in the area of penectomy, not castration. He always expressed the desire to keep the nuggets. No, he never achieved his objective.Did he really want to lose his dick or did he just like to fantasize about it?
If he really wanted to lose it why didn't he go to Thailand and have it removed? I got the impression that he had plenty of money.

(1) - Really doesn't matter does it? After all, we don't ask that question of anyone else.
(2) - gee, that's such an impolite question and observation it might never be answered.

I apologize for offending you. Would it have been less offensive if I had said this:
I doubt that he really wanted to lose his penis because if he had he would have gone to Thailand or Mexico and had it removed.
We know that he was over 18 years old so he legally could have done it. We also know that he was a Lawyer and he owned some businesses so he probably had enough money to have it done.

Curious_Guy,
Please discontinue speculation on Bboy. You are doing yourself disservice and disrespecting a gentleman admired here on the Archive. Speculation of this kind does not belong here.
Your understanding of this matter is greatly appreciated.
