Just a reminder that the Eunuch Archive Survey is both real and important. The two university professors (of Medicine and of Anthropology) who are conducting the survey are both active members of the Eunuch Archive community. They are attempting to produce academic articles that are both accurate and sympathetic to the community. There will be no shock or schlock journalism involved.
The goal is to gain information from as large a sample as possible of eunuchs, both chemical and surgical, and of eunuch wannabees of all stripes.
If you have not yet taken the fifteen minutes or less required to complete the survey, please start at the link on the front page of the Eunuch Archive or on the survey home page HERE (
http://www.eunuch.org/survey_signup.php)
The page requires that you give a name, any name, and an email address where your passcode can be sent. Only those who register can take the survey. This is the survey's troll barrier.
All survey results will be posted on the Archive after new contributions to the survey are closed.
If you have any questions or comments, or if you wish to add further information that the survey didn't ask, you can write to:
[email protected]

Yes, do take the survey. It's painless. Even I (the techno-nothing) managed it. --FLO--

Can someone post the actual and full site address for the survey. My very old browser doesn't permit hyper links from this page, and my Windows 95 doesn't want a newer browser.

And by the way, hope EVERYONE takes it. The bigger the sample the more interesting and informative the results will be. PLEASE, everyone, take the short time to take the survey, feel it will be very helpful to all of us.

Well, Mac, you should know by now how touchy AOL servers, that's if you're still using that provider. If you're not, maybe there's something we can do about it.

Still on AOL. The email was in my spam folder. I have now completed the survey.

So it's been a while since the survey was started. Obviously I'm not expecting to hear any results, but since I work in research using a ton of this kind of stuff, I'd be curious where you are on respondent counts thus far.
Is that possible?
Thanks! I look forward to the results when the survey is finished and tabulated.

I was pleased to participate in the survey. Everything worked fine for me, technologically speaking. I also join in the request that any research summary be shared with us.

I have completed the survey. Some questions don't lead smoothly to the next, but I did my best.
I also found that the link didn't work first time (java script conflict with Opera 7?)

Always willing to help but the link didn't work and the survey would not load. Never mind, perhaps I will try again- or is the survey only for USA members?

I too am in UK, so it's for anyone, I assume.
One question. How will the organiser know when to start counting? I notice that some people join, but never post! (Same as on my own messageboard)

I tried to do the survey, but it didn't want to work for me, i put in my name, and my email address and then it hung for a good 5-6 minutes then i decided to press the button again, and then it said my email was already being used.. i used both Firefox, and internet explorer. any ideas? thanks

Since the pass code is automatically generated by the server and sent almost instantly to the address that it's given, I would guess that your spam filter decided that you didn't want it. Check your spam folder, and I would guess that it's there waiting for you.
Response to the survey has been strong. I'm looking forward to seeing what the results can tell us about all of the fine people here.
For those who have already taken the survey, if you think of anything additional that you would like to add or any comments that you think would be useful, there is an email address that is shared by the two researchers:

Yes, the survey response has been very strong. I won't go into any details except to say that all will be revealed when the survey wraps up and our experts agree we can put it on line.
There have been some issues with aol, msn, earthlink, hotmail, and yahoo users not being able to reply but there are an equal amount of users on those email systems replying.
I really do suggest you check your email or "hidden" folders for a note, as I just resent the invitation codes to almost everyone who asked for them (it will be completed in a few moments.)
If that does not work still, please place a note on this board and I will send the invitation code personally.
Thanks again for all those that have taken the survey and thanks to all those that want to take it.
tal
p.s. remember, check your spam folder for the invite code from eunuch.org

Just a thought.. Could someone make this post sticky so it stay at the top? It might speed up people taking note of this thread. I too am interested in the results.
