Eunuch Symbolism

May I 'axe', is there a eunuch symbol? Like the male & female sex symbol? (the one's with a circle and a plus or arrow attached).

And is there any thing outwardly in appearance that enuchs do to make themselves known? Like back in the 80's I think, it was common for gay guys to wear their earing in the left or right ear (I don't remember which). And I know now that it's irrelevant as straight guys even wear rings in both ears.

And is there like a tattoo of any kind? I believe the pink triangle still indicates being gay. (as far as I know. And I think that came from nazi germany tattooing homosexuals with that symbol).

Is there anything like these things I'm 'axeing' (lol, I'm trying to be urban) Does anyone understand what I mean?

I often wondered this. I found a kewl icon (http://thefraj.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/third.gif) from a website a little while back. Then, just for a joke engineered one (http://thefraj.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/eunuch_icon.jpg) myself.

The question is : is a eunuch both male and female, or neither? I guess either the circle and line could work, or the icon more readily associated with transgenderism (female arrowhead and male line?)

But I like the Hindu one better :)

I'd be interested to know if anyone knows the icon in the top portion of the first icon (Hindu one), or the character included in the triangle.

Sorry to double-post, but the website (http://www.galva108.org/) the first icon came from has an interesting article (http://www.galva108.org/Tritiya_prakriti.html) on their frontpage

I think if we are going to create a symbol we need a new pronoun while we are at it. "It" is fine for inanimate objects but I think we deserve something better. Those members linguistically gifted could help with this.

I like your symbol but I have an idea. How about a large circle with both male and female signs inside the circle pointing at each other for the internal duality we feel?

Interesting replies, thanks. All I can think about now though it Prince's symbol (The artist formerly known as) Now I'm wondering what that stands for? Could he be a eunuch? LoL.

God that is so spooky numnuts, I was thinking about that as I typed my last post to this thread. Hehe, that would certainly be a kewl ikon!

I think the pronoun idea is a good one too. The more I think about it, the more I wonder if "she" is more accurate, even if that person dresses and acts male for all other intents and purposes.

Of course you could make one of your own up. I wonder about "e", (pronounced "ee") as it's the only letter common to both He and She. I don't know I'll think about that one!

How about the male circle with the arrow disconnected and lying beside the circle....?

Or we could use the male symbol in a circle with the line through it.

If you Google and look at the symbols, doesn't it make sense to just use a circle with no attachments?

Yes, simple, no confusion, just a circle has my vote.

The male symbol has an arrow. The female symbol has a t. Why not merge the two and cross the arrow. So you have a t with an arrow point on the end. Steve

I have a new favorite. Should we vote on designs.

How about a circle with a vertical stroke going down? That is, same as the female symbol but with the crossbar removed. Looks rather plain vanilla, like eunuchs. We're neither chili pepper nor chocolate.

As we decide on a eunuch holiday I think we should also decide on the eunuch symbol.

The standard symbols for male and female are those of the planets Mars and Venus. To me, it would make sense to continue with the astronomical connections. The SUN, centered and neutral, is a circle with a dot in the center. Easy to draw, and clearly different from a zero or the letter "O".

That sounds like the best idea yet. Should we vote or just adopt the circle with the dot in the center as our symbol?

Circle with dot, would that annoy 'Sun' students ?

Circle with three dots as an inverted triangle - remnants ?

A circle within a circle - not anything but a nicely rounded whole ?

How about a circle with a minus inside as opposed to the arrow and plus on the outside.

How about the Male circle with the arrow drouped (flacid) would not that be a suitable symbol?

I like the concept of the drooping arrow -- indicative of a penis now useless for sex -- but would like to suggest as an alternative the circle and arrow minus the arrow's head -- symbolizing surgically eliminated male sexuality.

Flacid arrow without a head would be a very good symbol as an arrow without a head cannot penetrate great idea how about it folks
