Channel 4 has confirmed another show in its "Wank Week" season - a documentary about compulsive masturbators.

Independent producer Spun Gold has been commissioned to make the one-hour programme following two men trying to kick their habit.

The as-yet unnamed show is the second programme in the themed week to be unveiled, following MediaGuardian.co.uk's revelation last week that Channel 4 is to broadcast a documentary about a mass masturbation for charity, given the working title "Wank-a-thon".

One of the participants in the new show - who says he masturbates 20 times a day - has already been cast, but the producer is seeking a second male for the programme.

The compulsive masturbators will be filmed hearing about different ways to cut down, focusing particularly on methods used in the US.

The documentary has been commissioned by the Channel 4 head of entertainment, Andrew MacKenzie.

There actually has been cross-cultural research done on frequency of masturbation. Peak frequency, of course, is among boys ages 15 to 20. World-wide, the average frequency for boys that age is one to three times per day with over 75% of boys falling within that range and a few both higher and lower.

Even thinking back to my teenage years, 20 times a day sounds like a nightmare.

I didn't discover masturbation until I was fourteen, but as much as I loved it then, I don't ever remember doing it more than three times in one day, and I would guess once or twice a day was more like it. I rarely let a day go by without jacking off at least once, though.

I don't know whether I would have wanted to do it twenty times a day -- even then -- but looking back -- four or five times a day might have been nice.

Jesus, see if you can find out what kind of lubricant the guy that did it twenty times a day used.

I did not start until the rather late age of 16. I did it a lot, but nowhere near that much. I would say I fell into the normal range from 16-20.

At that age my maximum was 9 times a day. I did it few times. But after that my penis was quite sore. And I lost appetite for masturbation for 2-3 days.

you can imagine, there is 24 hours in a day. 8 hours you sleep. Then you have 16 hours available for masturbation. Normally It took me at least 30 minutes to recover, after 4 times much more. So you can imagine that 20 times will take at least a whole day...

I began masturbating at an early age - perhaps 4 years old. In my early teens I would masturbate 1 or 2 times a day. I tried to stop doing it once and could only last about a week before giving in. Maximum number of times in one day was 4 or 5 but only on rare occasions. After marriage, I would often masturbate on a daily basis despite having intercourse 2 or 3 times a week. Now in my 60's, I don't masturbate as often - about once a week and have sex with my wife about once a week.

Living in a house with one bathroom and sharing a bedroom with my brother I was lucky to get three times happening. Back then safe sex was making sure the bathroom door was locked. Twenty times a day I would need someone to deliver meals and vitamins. I would also need carpal tunnel surgery.

Must be why I had several carpal releases and an ulnar transfer done..... And to think the doc blamed keyboarding....

So that's why my right wrist aches a lot!!!!

I was a compulsive masturbator, and definitely was at around the 20 times a day mark. Orgasms are quite draining, so it is not good physically to orgasm that much, but it was compulsive. I got so I could orgasm just by thinking about the sensation. I'd orgasm doing exercise especially whole body exercises. And that doesn't even count all the wet dreams (a couple every night). To get so many orgasms per day, I'd practice making myself cum as fast as possible. I got so I could go from zero to ejaculation just on an elevator ride. I pretty much trained myself to be multi-orgasmic, with my record being 11 times in a half hour.

That is what compulsive masturbation is like! And hence my desire to regain control that led to desire for castration.

I never masturbate more than three times a day sometimes less

I don't recall masturbating before the age of nine. Then, I probabably did it daily but not more than once a day. At thirteen, I was masturbating as often as opportunity permitted, seldom more than 7 or 8 times a day.

I tore the bottom out of one of my trouser pockets so that I could reach my penis easily (which I left hanging out of the fly of my boxer shorts) and played "pocket pool" under the desk in school and even when walking on the street. On my thirteenth birthday, I indulged thirteen times, the most times I ever did it in one day.

Ultimately, I settled down to 6 times per day. While on active duty in the Naval Reserve, from 1952 to 1954 , there was a problem finding enough privacy, even though I was an officer. However, most days I was able to satisfy my need six times a day, and tried to make up for lost time on other days.

I continued masturbating 6 times a day for 26 years. By age 40, I was down to four times a day and by age 50, twice. Nowadays, at age 76, I'm lucky if I succeed in completing the act once a week. (Ah, how the mighty are fallen !)

This does not mean that I TRY only once a week. I manipulate my penis as much as I did at 13, but nothing much happens most times. Sometimes it takes as much as ten days, and sometimes I can masturbate successfully on two consecutive days.

I do NOT begrudge the time which I have "wasted" in masturbating. I have enjoyed it ENORMOUSLY. As Woody Allen said: "Hey, don't knock it. It's sex with someone I love."
