Also, nerves may regrow and adapt, forming new sensors to replace those lost in the glans. (Or, more acurately: Neurons, what we often call "nerve cells", are only transporting the signals. But the cells that are really responsible for genereting the "input" are adapted skin cells. Severed neuronal ...

Re: cigarette on penis
I have had burns of several different kinds done to my penis. From hot coals, through cigarettes to a soldering iron. The pain is very different.
A cigarette has a very high temperature - higher then one would think - and it won't go out immediately on contact unless crushed against the skin. (Just ...

Re: Hormones and Mental Health
When I studied psychology, about ten years ago, the gospel was that there was a connection between levels of Estrogen and serotonin/dopamin. Since then, there has been a switch in focus from dopamin towards noradrenaline (norepinephrine) besides serotonin, as a mood agent in general and as a factor ...

He got very old, for such a small animal. In the end he was 14 years old, if I remember correctly. He was tired, not so active anymore, and lost most of his eyesight. But the last time I saw him, he still lighted up when he could smell my hand and greeted it with joyous talking. He died soon after.

Yes, that can be intense... Luckily for me I seem to desensitize to the individual fantasy rather quickly, so then I either have to find a new variant if I want to reach the same hight or the feeling is much less intense.

Re: My Penectomy Fantasy
Yes, the desire to lose the penis can become very tough, almost overwelming sometimes. To me, that is mostly when I happen to imagine a particularly "truth-like" fantasy, something that is both realistic enough not to jog my natural scepticism and close enough to my ideal fantasy to really turn me ...

You are quite right - so far most of our discussion has focused on the concept of mind and what part of it is subconscious. And that was probably a bit of an abstract side track... That's my fault of course, but being a philosphy major does that to you. :)

Also there seems to be a lot of modern myth-making to the point of DNA making "perfect copies" and certain genes "determining" such and such things about us. I think a lot of people don't realize how complex a process human development is. The mental image I think is involved here is that the cell ...
