If pain is an issue you should use some local anesthetic, as they did in the urology article, or have some pain pills available. I don't think any pain medication was needed after 24 hours. Good luck.

The only medical journal article, a Urology Journal, used a burdizzo successfully by clamping for 30 seconds.

I finally got the metric circle template I ordered and found to my surprise that both balls after a hot water soak were, one at a time, able to fit through the 32 mm (1 1/4 inch) circle. I thought they would be larger but maybe they are about an average size. (???)

This warm water/overflow method is great. The amount of overfow (ball volume) can best be measured with a graduated cylinder (like they use in chemistry labs). I got consistent measurements of 110 cc's (same as ml's). - thanks

I guess measuring volume is the most accurate way to determine how much ball you have. Since balls are not really true spheres the circle template will only measure the smallest diameter of each ball that will fit through the template. For everyone who is in the process of shrinking their balls - I think this is the most accurate way to measure progress. Keep track of date and measurement size in order to chart your progress. This will show if you have reached a plateau or if you are still making headway.
