I've not used topicals, so I can't speak to it. Gabapentin, on the other hand, is "supposed" to be good for neural pain (it rarely is), and is generally worthless. Find a sympathetic urologist if the one you currently are using doesn't help you. They are out there. You just need to look a bit. A female surgeon seems to be the best bet.

You did not say the nature of your injury , but certainly , if it hasn't healed, and you are still having serious pain, a prudent urologist would at least entertain removal. Being dosed with the mixture of drugs you are taking is absurd. Seek out another urologist ...
