Re: I shall say zis only vance

Hi!

Users here have to remember that, by my estimation, over 95% of historical eunuchs were minors when they were castrated / emasculated. If you want to know about their true subsequent real-life, & frequently marvellous, histories, which some stories on the old website attempted without catering ...

Re: US political - House bill may restrict gender care money

Hi from the opposite side of the Atlantic from the USA!

I'd love to say this about what is currently happening in the USA:- "................!!!!"

However, I'm sure that the moderators here won't let me, unfortunately but probably quite correctly!

Re: Eunuch Hall of Fame

I'm very ashamed to confess that I had never heard of Sima Qian before reading Dandelion's last post to this thread. His clearly expert knowledge of Chinese eunuchs has fascinated me, so much so that I'll have to research much more of the subject when I can.

Thank you, Dandelion, for enlightening ...

Re: Eunuch Hall of Fame

Hi!

Excellent modern choice, Danedlion.

My mind is perhaps too focused on ancient history to remember the contributions of such modern eunuchs, with my 'Mountain Flower' being the most recent, having lived 18th - 19th centuries.

By the way, Turing was also honoured in 2021 by having his portrait ...

Re: Eunuch Hall of Fame

Hi All!

My final nomination in this thread, this time for being the 5th greatest eunuch in history, is Eudocius, Abbot of the Monastery of St. Lazaros, Constantinople, Byzantine Empire, in the first part of the 10th century AD.

Why is explained in yet more of my biographies, presumably now in the ...

Re: Eunuch Hall of Fame

Hi All!

I thank NaturalEunuch for his very kind compliment about 'Malleus Gothorum'.

I believe that I'm also now in position to reveal very soon who is my third nominee, a certain 'Mountain Flower', as the relevant entirely fact-based & now moderated story will hopefully be posted in the story ...

Re: Eunuch Hall of Fame

Hi All!

My number four is, perhaps rather appropriately for today of all days, St. Patrick.

Having researched his history for many years, being of paternal Irish ancestry myself, I’m 99% sure he was a eunuch, castrated in circumstances at least very similar to those described in my story here ...

Re: Eunuch Hall of Fame

Hi All!

My number three is a “Mountain Flower”!

In explanation, I hope to work on returning here another old story, originally titled “OTTOMANS ۱: THE MOUNTAIN FLOWER”, now presumably within the closed archive. Beware, though it’s another long factual biography, like ‘Malleus Gothorum’, with no ...

Re: Eunuch Hall of Fame

Hi again!

Dandelion's contribution was certainly very interesting, especially as I've never before heard of the notorious eunuch concerned.

I'm here to report that I have submitted here a revised version of 'Malleus Gothorum', explaining my own number one choice, which will hopefully soon be ...

Re: Eunuch Hall of Fame

Hi All!

As we await posting of a revised ‘Malleus Gothorum’, revealing my choice of most successful eunuch in history, I now nominate my number two……..Bagoas, Alexander the Great’s young lover.

Bagoas was instrumental in changing Alexander’s attitude to the Persia he had conquered. Before the King ...

Re: Eunuch Hall of Fame

Hi all!

Sadly now quite a few years ago, I wrote a true historical biography for eunuch.org about a certain eunuch. It was titled "BYZANTINES IV : MALLEUS GOTHORUM", but I haven't yet checked whether it's still available to read within the archives at this great new website.

What I am sure is that ...

Re: Eunuchs in ancient times

In answer to your question, marcialou, go to the story board here & the grid representing the alphabetical author index. Click on 'P' & scroll down to 'Pueros', where you'll find all of the stories I've written for the board, including the 12-part 'Spartans', based loosely on the Biblical Book of ...

Re: Eunuchs in ancient times

marcialou might like to know that I have already written two multi-part stories here about ancient Persia, although this fact should not deter him from producing his own.

One, also based on the Biblical Book of Esther, was, given this fact, rather incongruously titled 'Spartans'. The second, based ...

If anyone wants to read a marvellous episodic story during which reference to the creation of a thlibias eunuch, in the form of the character of Hylas [chapter 4], and use of the castration clamp by 'gallae' adherents of the goddess of Cybele [chapter 14], plus other versions of castration in ...

There may or may not be some form of supreme being who is responsible for existence. However, I'm sure that the being is not someone I really want to know if he/she/it wants to be worshipped.

My view is to proceed with life as best as possible, loving & taking care of others as much as you'd like ...

One of the original Roman clamps in question was found in the Thames & is, or at least was the last time I looked, viewable in the British Museum in London but I'm afraid that I can't remember precisely where. I & another quoted a press article on the factual board summarising its utilisation in the ...
