Here's a new poll to better understand the makeup of our membership.
"In many ways, a eunuch is not a damaged human, but an improved one."

Re: Eunuch Archive Poll Question
For those interested in castration there could be actually two subcategories. One for those interested and quite sure for castration in the future (near or far) and those very interested but not sure at the time being.

No chemically castrated yet
guess it's harder to obtain compared to physical castration, and it's something you need to take over-time rather than a one-and-done like physical castration.

That is interesting. Maybe because chemical castration might be a temporary state for people. Either they go ahead and do the surgery after a period of time, or they decide castration is not for them. Also I seem to remember reading that longterm use of chemical castration drugs can cause some health issues.Lineppe'lik wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2025 6:04 am No chemically castrated yetguess it's harder to obtain compared to physical castration, and it's something you need to take over-time rather than a one-and-done like physical castration.

Well the SOCv8 suggests chemical castration as a 'trial' pretty strongly -NaturalEunuch wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2025 6:47 amThat is interesting. This surprises me when you say it's harder to get... I asked for the test, but my impression is that they would have pretty much insisted on it if I hadn't...Per statement 5.6 in Chapter 5—Assessment of Adults, eunuch individuals seeking gonadectomy consider a minimum of 6 months of hormone therapy as appropriate to the TGD person’s gender goals before the TGD person undergoes
irreversible surgical intervention (unless hormones are not clinically indicated for the individual
Long term effects are variable depending on the drugs used and dosage, etc. but it seems a good idea to minimize the drugs, and keep a close eye on things. I believe the most noted issue is liver problems. It may also be important to note that long term use of chemical castration may result in PERMANENT sterility and loss of 'function'... The longer one is on it the more likely that you won't recover when you get off the drugs. Reportedly the 'point of no return' can be as early as 6-12 months....
