The 'self loathing' explanation does not explain the thousands of erotic stories on this very site for which the central theme is castration. Guys get off on the idea. That's not self loathing, that's a fetish.

This response hits home for me as well. I'm not submissive exactly, but I'm not aggressive either, not sexually. I could fuck a guy (or boy if it was legal), but I'd rather be fucked by him, and my real turn on is seeing him get turned on. I also like affection and kissing and such, but my turn on there is feeling his hunger for the affection and my being able to fulfill his need for it.

It is probably a mixture of several factors.

Yes, Gay men are more aware of their sexuality. Straight men tend to think of sex as vaginal, oral or anal. Most don't think beond the 3, and they are always the ones doing the penetrating.

Those of us who are gay think about the whole body as being sexual.

There is also the Freudian side. I was raised to believe that homosexuality is a sin, wrong, the worst thing possible. Also I remember hearing the arguement that '2 penises cannot create a baby' and that the ONLY purpose for sex is procreation.

I also recall that if you enjoy sex then there is something wrong with you because it is NEVER to be enjoyed as it is ONLY for procreation.

I'm sure that part of the reason I want to have a penectomy is that since I was about 8, I've enjoyed the feelings from my penis. I felt then, and still feel that I shouldn't be allowed to have that enjoyment.

You should unlearn what you have learned throw it out with the bath water.

If you enjoy sex then that is great, why would you want to end it? because someone else wants to control your life? only you have the right to that body of yours, enjoy it.

I love sex. It's wonderful. But I am not obsessed with it.

I have always liked both male and female.

When I was a kid I chased girls and caught boys.

I find sex quite different with the two, women tend

to be about romantic sex, men are more willing to

stretch the boundaries. With women usually they

are expecting more than I want to give.

I am comfortable with both men and women socially,

but I can only do one roll at a time.

I am able to understand the appeal of practices that I

didn't think of first. Usually if it's not degrading I'm happy

to participate.

At ea I stick mostly to gay sex chat, mostly because I usually

don't want to "do" some guys wife in front of him.

Total Registered Membership When Checked = 3,952

When asked orientation, members responded thus:

Gay = 1,181 = 29.88%

Lesbian = 61 = 1.54%

Bisexual = 443 = 11.21%

Asexual = 156 = 3.95%

Straight = 1,872 = 47.37%

Other = 22 = 0.56%

No Answer = 217 = 5.49%

Kristoff, you left out one minority group, mine:

The senile old farts who wouldn't recognize the opposite sex if they were ten feet away. I'm not sure but I'd guess River, UncleFlo and a few others fall into this catagory too.

Talk about disproportionate, TheOtherSide says the gay population is the chat room is 50% or higher.

Not only can I recognize, but I can still annoy them. The trouble with your theory is that since I am bisexual I am not sure what "opposite sex" means. --FLO--

I think that everybody loves the idea that they might gain from a chance to rid themselves of all "afflictions".

That is why some look for love, others for surgery...
