Re: Midwest MOM
Darn, I won't be able to come this year. Just couldn't swing the cost of such a trip. I do have a year to save up for next years event.
I still might make it a camping trip if I do buy a used motorcycle like I was be planning on. My own wheels would be handy to get around to the events.
*For Planners Next Year* - Mid Month of August works better for me, schedule wise.

Re: Midwest MOM
I've just heard some frightening and depressing news: TheOtherSide hasn't had a beer in five days. Maybe you folks don't realize the importance of beer to this genius on the Eunuch Archive. When TheOtherSide is at home, he makes his own brews. ATM he's trapped in the wilderness of Wisconsin awaiting the MOM members.
Please help restore the pride of the Eunuch Archive. Buy TheOtherSide a beer.
You wouldn't want to be the guy who stood by idle while the former CEO succumed to beer deprivation. It's a horrible way to go.

I can say from experience that the stuff you guys serve there is no where what TheOtherSide would ever call Beer, that is why he has to make his own.

Wine and Ice Tea, they might sell beer but we did not ask.
We even thought about you my friend, something came up about drive by shootings and how you lived in one of the original areas of San Bardo, its an age thing, at your advanced years we know you were there before it was built. As I remember my history of California that was the city that dates back several centuries, just wondering, what was it like there 3000 years ago? did they have drive by shootings then too?
Take care old guy we will have a beer for you,
River

I'm not able to attend this year. But. I did get to the testicle festival in Rock Lodge Montana on opening day (Aug 4) and got a plate of testicles to eat.

Wish you could have been here Plix. Wish all of the EA could be here.
We all had a fantastic dinner at Kristoff's House. Good food, great friends. What more can you want.

Re: Midwest MOM
It as been several days of feasting so far, IE and I went to a Chinese place that serves sushi and other good foods, that was Tuesday. Wednesday we met up with Jesus, Paolo, and Kristoff for Famous Dave's for an all you can eat, yesterday at the mall of America for the Long John Silvers with Bobbie and OBB then to Kristoffs for a wonderful steak dinner with all the trimmings, Today its off to shop for more food and this afternoon we will head to Jesus and Paolo's for a wine and cheese party followed by the all you can eat, I understand the evil overlord will meet his match this year, I have a young padawan learner to take my place. He keeps telling me that now he is the master, time will tell. This is always a fun event as all the kids in the place leave their parents to join us because we are not stuffy adults, we are FUN. Tomorrow of course is the Pancake breakfast which we are adding blueberry's this year and real HOME MADE Butter, Real Maple Syrup followed by more good fellowship and a fun day for all, we will end the day with a BBQ with all sorts of goodies, Its a weight gain week of fine dinning with wonderful people.
If you missed it this year, YOU need to plan on making in next year because we simply have to much fun and would like to share it with everybody.
More later,
River

Who needs dancing girls when you have Kristoff dancing.
On a more pleasant note. Just got back from the dinner. It was like always, one crazy wild time. And food.
We had some
Also some
and
And a lot of
You have to be present to appreciate it.
Tomorrow the fun starts all over again.
Re: Midwest MOM
It was good, yes, but it would have been better if we'd not had such a difficult audience to play to. The Hog Trough wasn't as busy as usual, I don't think, and the people who were there were off in their own little world. The front manager and cashiers had more fun with the light saber, I think!

Re: Midwest MOM
No one had the balls to show up at the Saturday MOM with any light saber's. Seemed like is was a no ball convention. We did have a few very fine female's in attendance today. Always great to have all kind of great people present. The more the merrier. Waiting to see what Tomorrow will bring!
The only way to realize just what an MOM is like would be to be at one. The Mid-West MOM seems to be the first full weekend in August each year. Get your ass in gear and plan to attend next years!!

Re: Midwest MOM
At nearly the last moment, I decided to attend the Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning events. I was really glad I did. It gave me a break from the big city and it was great to see friends. I just got back home.
I was so relaxed Saturday night that I slept soundly without the benefit of my usual, non-addictive sleep aid.

Re: Midwest MOM
Just wanted to post a brief note of thanks to several people.
Talula and Gemm for hosting the MoM, graciously opening their home to all, generously providing as needed.
Riverwind for co-hosting the event, opening his home as well.
Bobbie and Ralph, who provided a couple of excellent meals, much attention to detail, and a generous spirit. Both attended to every need, graciously and well. Especial note for Ralph for a his deadly fly-swatter.
Jesus for his unending generosity to all. Without him, much of the MoM just wouldn't be the same - he's a prime mover.
Paolo for being his usual sweet and charming self!
And last, the staff of the Hog Trough, who gallantly braved withering fire from various light sabres, storm trooper weapons, and revolving light pistols. The Dark Lord remains unscathed....
Thanks to all who attended and made for a great weekend with friends.
