Hi, Sorry, I have not added any more to this thread I started, as I have had a lot of personal issues to sort out, including our 7 month old having an OP, and my mother-in-law dying, and having to arrange a funeral etc...

The idea of posting the original message was to try and gauge how many people actually read the board, and care to some extent about board and the subject matter it contains, and more importantly the minority community it supports.

Whilst I think most people agree, that a lot of posts recently have been well off topic, it is good to know that there are a good number of people who care about this board. I may not post very often, but I do login at least once per week, sometimes a lot more often.

The very ironic thing is that although I have been looking to be castrated of the last 15 years or so, if I had reached my goal, I would not have a fantastic 7 month old son with my 2nd wife, but having said that we now have 5 kids, and my desire to reach my goal of getting castrated in the UK is as strong as ever.

I hope the board lives to a ripe old age, and that there are more active posts in the future on the subject of castration and eunuchs.

If you look at near the bottom of the message board page you will find What's Going On? On the next line the number of people that are reading posts at the present time is listed. Currently Active Users (http://eunuch.org/vbulletin/online.php):.

You will see at least 100 people in the message board at any time. Often 150 or so. The most we ever had on line in resent times is 277 last Friday. So the readers are increasing.

Think a vasectomy may be more what you want. That will prevent more children. I do not see where you listed the reasons for castration.

I have no choice but to completely avoid a couple of avatars on this site plus some of the links. I'm very certain that many others completely avoid this site altogether for that reason. Many of the younger persons who have been around the web all of their lives are very adept at avoiding places like this. I am unable to tell most people that I am here.

Point taken. However the reverse is also true. Think any one that is looking in a site with the name of Eunuch, should expect to see images like in the avatars. This site is to provide information on castration. Big part of that is to provide other sources of information. How can you not give out a link to information on the subject. Some may to to sites that are not to your liking. No way can we filter out such websites for some people. If management has an issue with relevance to the site the posting is removed. If you want to see nice little bunnies kitty cats and dogs then go to a channel that has that in the topic. Think many people pick a avatar that in some way describes there interest or status. If some wants a bunny that is their choice. Some avatars are removed if they relate to something that is not supported or allowed in this site. Minors references are not allowed. Hope the younger persons you are talking about are not minors.

The eunuch topic is not something that is talked about in "normal" life situations. Think most people are uncomfortable taking to others that they are or want to be castrated. Some do walk around with a T-shirt or hat with a reference of eunuch on it. They are making a statement to others. No one needs to know that you are in here. It is just not any of their business. You should not be assumed of being in here. You are here for a reason. It has meaning for you. You do not have to justify your presence here.

Have you ever tried talking to someone, let's say who is well shaven but has a head of hair coming out their nose? Ridiculous! Huh? Or how about someone that stinks to high heaven? You know that nobody else will talk to them for the obvious reason but here you are having to listen to them and you really just don't know why since that person is not at all interested in making himself presentable. I have been at the hot springs many times, naked and talking to other naked persons but never anyone with a hard-on. Most people would say that if they are only interested in making themselves a full blown itiot then they can just go to hell and anyway who wants to have to LISTEN to them?

When it comes to surfing the web and you find yourself in a pornographic area because of the amount of pop-ups that come up your first natural response has to be shut down and reboot. The reason is not because of the pornography itself but because of all the pop-ups and solicitations that you're just not interested in.

Anyone at the library or at a coffee shop who comes upon a site with pictorial "pornography" must legally shut it off immediately. Most people know this and so therefore they will avoid such places too. Words don't normally matter but the pictures do. And the librarian will not hesitate in yanking your card. At a family home you'd be suspect too. I, myself go to great lengths to hide them.

Yes. I can turn off all of the avatars but my most favorite solution just like in the fifth grade is to avoid itiots. In grade school kids liked to cuss just for the fact that they could use such language and get away with it amony your peers. But then after a while and you keep on like that you simply become a dweeb. It's all about the socialization process and some of us seem to be pretty short. Of course you can go the other way and become a prude too but this isn't about that.

The log-on page for EA has a warning about the contents of the site. That should be enough to discourage the peck-sniffs or those using computers where they might be seen by people who are supposed to be protected from truth.

The whole point of EA is to be a meeting place for those with an interest in the issues - medical, physical, psychological, moral, political, etc. - surrounding castration and gender. Sexual identity and its expression, especially in non-normal ways, is the subject. I see no reason, once someone has read the warning and chosen to log on, to be coy or evasive.

I don't know what the big deal is. Aside from the fact that avatars can be turned off in the User CP, I don't allow pornographic pics to be used, and insist on a certain amount of discretion, simply because we are occasionally viewed in public places. We also like to be taken somewhat seriously, which wouldn't happen if the place were loaded up with porn. If one considers avatars such as A-1's to be pornographic, then they have my sympathies and concern for their closed state of mind, or that of those they are "protecting."

I went through the "yahoo messenger" chat rooms, and all I can find are PORNBOTS! I am so so so sick and tired of some pornbot "pm'ing" me to view a webcam! Six billion people and not one of them cares to have a reasonable conversation with me... Do I have bad B.O. or something? Maybe I really am dead and the carcass is beginning to stink.

It is looking more like a twitter update site now. It is not about what people are doing.

Think the topic was, if the site is still as poplar as it was in the past. Please at least keep to the subject and not a blog. You can blog all you want in the blog area of the site.

Uh, no, you can't blog here, the site's "blog" section has been down for a while now. Not that I really used it much or read it much, but I was sort of a neat place for a diary like log that I liked to have.

Well, back to the subject of this thread...

I do not think the EA is in fact dead, but it is seemingly unhealthy and getting uninteresting.

We have more and more (and more and more and more) political threads, and fewer threads relating to eunuchs and castration.

This place calls itself the "Eunuch Archive," not the politics blog spot. I think we all can agree, we would all much rather read the news of castration and eunuchs, with the politics being a side bar. I will admit, that I myself have politicized too much of my posts, it is a nasty habit, damn near irresistable urge some time to get on a soapbox here. I suppose we all do it, but we should not do it so much.

Also, I am much more interested in reading some of the "how to" and "interesting trivia" threads (e.g. the "what are your hobbies?" thread). But that is not really on the subject of eunuchs and castration.

I stand corrected on the blog. I do not read or post there.

Long ago we had political, jocks etc all through the message board. Our very smart and foreseeing managers took action. They saw the need to created a special area for things not related to castration. When the political thread was taken down, a vocal group insisted it to be reopened. With all political chat in one area of the board. One can opt out of looking at anything in that area. Smart managers Knew how to segregate things.

The message board is just like the story area. No one forces you to read anything you do now want to. We even put messages of like nature, in their own group. There is an area of interests in their own thread category. What more can the site do?
