Preempting hair growth in pre-pubescent boys
The talk of castrated pre-pubescent boys in another thread got me thinking... is it possible to prevent beard and body hair growth in teenage boys, without resorting to something as drastic as castration? If there's a relatively easy way to stop body hair growth before it starts, I think this could be considerably beneficial to the boy:
- No need to waste time shaving.
- Improved hygiene.
- If he turns out to be a M2F TG, no need to spend $10,000+ on electrolysis.
I'd say the only advantage of having body hair is if one wants to look "older", or more "manly", etc.
And such a procedure, if it can be done without other side effects, may well be ethical to use even on a minor.

Well the problem I have with shaving is how often I need to shave to get the desired look.
I have no issues with shaving face, but usually am too lazy to do it more than once or twice a week. :tongueout The problem I have is shaving chest, belly and pubic area takes way to long, and I always end up getting lots of ingrown hairs afterwards.

I actually figured out a neat trick, quite by accident of course.
I was rebuilding the carbs on my outboard Mariner one summer, and it was hot as shit. So, I ended up buttass neked, working in the garage.
Well, I was scrubbing the little parts and using the screwdriver as required. I was also using B12 carb cleaner in an areosol can. The more you spray, the better. So it was all over my neked body and you guessed it, the cherry from my marlboro ignited that shit and
POOF
hairless I was.
Boy it hurt- so next time I got good and drunk first. Kinda took the edge off.
The old lady sure likes it too, sez I smell better.

Oh, nothing. I was thinking of ways to make myself longer in the frontal region. You know, maybe hooking it up to one of those medievil devices would do me some good. I musta just spewed out what was on my mind

yah, that b12's some nasty stuff. gotta be the most flammable stuff know to man, well next to my ass after some of momma's chili.
personally, I like brake cleaner. don't need no flames, just spray it on, wait a few minutes and wipe it off with a shop rag. make sure you scrub up well with some of that orange cleaner after though. otherwise you'll rash up something fierce.

I don't remember being conditioned like that when I was young. I knew my father shaved, but it seemed just to be a necessity (like going to the bathroom).
I recall in my Personal Development class (sort of like Sex Education, I guess), there was a comic with a teenage boy looking at his arms that were starting to grow hair, and saying "I'm turning into a monster!". I'm guessing that it is well known that boys may well not like their hair growth.
(On the other side of a coin, some presumably do like to look older. I remember one "Letter to the Editor" in a kids magazine from a boy who lamented that his voice was squeaky and it embarassed him, and he asked if his voice would get not squeaky after puberty.)
...Back to the original question, hmm... does anyone know a free online service where I can ask a pediatrician questions? I'm thinking of saying something like "My son is ten years old. He is dreading having to start shaving. Is there a way he can prevent his beard from starting to grow as he enters puberty?"

Re: Preempting hair growth in pre-pubescent boys
Of all the outrageous things I have read on this board, a) torching the hair off your body , and b) chemical removal with brake fluid are the most outrageous. Whatever floats your boat!
Did anyone see the picture of the featherless chicken?
To paraphrase Jon Stewart, it looks like a wrinkled scrotum from my going to work naked nightmare!!!!
But seriously folks, at 10 I had hair on my arms and legs and no nuts for another three years. At 17 I could pass for 21 and get served alcohol due to the heavy beard. At 25 I had blond-haired friends with no body hair who were getting carded in bars...
So if you want to stop hair growth, you gotta start early. But remember, testosterone causes growth and muscle development.

Re: Preempting hair growth in pre-pubescent boys
Bodily hair growth is caused by FSH, Folicle Stimulating Hormone, which is also release at puberty and later on. Some lucky boys/men don't ever grow much beard/body hair, because they produce plenty of testosterone but little to no FSH. Find some way to block FSH, and the hair issue is pretty much under control.
Hair loss on the body is also a "YMMV" thing. When my own levels began to drop, I lost about 50%-75% of my body hair, but a bit of it came back. I still have too much for my liking.
There's really no great way to remove hair. Shaving is risky, time consuming, and leaves ingrown hairs and you itch if you dont' keep doing it. Cream like Nair don't work, electrolysis is costly and painful, and waxing just f*cking HURTS!
As far as controlling it for a boy who doesn't want it, well, I'd say I have no clue.

Hmm, what hasn't someone come up with a FSH blocking pill???
No more having to shave, worry about ingrown hairs, pain from wax, electrolysis or the other common hair removal methods.
OK well I can only think of one problem with that, it would probably make you bald also, but hey then I don't have to spend $15 or more for a good hair cut, no more styling my hair every morning. Hmm you know I think I like that Idea too. :p Then I could blind people with my polished bald head.:tongueout

Somehow laser is cheaper and less painful, if you have dark hair and light skin.

I say that we should find what gene grows hair on our bodies and eliminate it from the human species.
I absoultely LOVE the look of hairlessness on women. Bald babes!
Hell yeah! That's the ticket. If people cannot get use to it let them buy wigs.

Yes have researched the cost of having laser used, but is still outside my price range. The pain of electrolysis is not really a concern; the price and time required are my main issues, besides being a little embarrassed having them work on me.

I would not recommend anyone try that, it was posted by one of the losers that was trying to cause issues on our site. This here was taken from another site on the internet in reference to the previous post.
Looks like somebody bought the brake cleaner bit!!! I wonder if one of those freaks is down at autozone as we speak lookin' for an economy size can of brake cleaner?

Do you remember when Jim Carrey as"The Mask" went into the Auto Garage and picked up two tailpipes and mufflers and said, "...hold onto your lug nuts boys it's time for an overhaul!"
