March 2025 New Story

Not a "New Story"; but this time of years, I always like to remind folks about this very seasonally appropriate story:

When I first found it back in the EAv2 collection, I did some looking, and as best I can tell, at least the background is 100% consistent with the known history, only question is whether or not the historical hero was ACTUALLY fixed... I also asked online, and the answer I got is basically that there is no solid evidence that he was, but also NO evidence that he wasn't... Given that there is no way to tell the difference between a eunuch and a guy who keeps his pants on from history it has to be considered an open question....

Dandelion and I have been having a lengthy email conversation with the author (mostly about a soon to be posted series work that looks excellent) and I can say that he has a very good and relevant professional background in his real life, so is well qualified to write accurately about that historical period. I asked him, and his opinion was that he couldn't prove it, but that he had strong reason to think the story is as true as such tales can be....

Could be a serious brain bender for those of a certain heritage...
