Believe me, NO-ONE wants to see me naked. I don't even want to see me naked. Maybe they are just trying to be polite, and shield me from it.
There is still a few days to go, so I'll withhold judgement until then.![]()
Believe me Cainanite, nobody sane wants to see River naked either

Is the sheep cute? Oh, I was just curious. No particular reason for asking. No really.

If anyone wants to get naked, that's fine. We won't pass judgement.
Please consult with local laws pertaining to public nudity, however.
Some of us have been known to get "nekkid" for money, too.

I offered to dance naked for nickles, but no one would take my nickles... And I saved for so long too.

I'm sad I can't stay for the weekend activities, but very glad I was able to make it for the first two days. Thank you everyone for the hospitality in making this wannabe newcomer feel truly welcome. I expect I will be back.

We were all genuinely pleased to meet you. I know I was.
I was glad that you could find the time to make it out. You were most welcome.
Now, don't be a stranger!

I thought the sheep had more of a befuddled, dazed look. Poor baby!
Not to worry, though, this was an inflatable sheep.
It was a treat meeting Cainanite, notifwhen and Jane Kane. Just wish I'd had more time to spend with everyone. Of course, if I hadn't fallen asleep at yesterday's event there would have been more time! Two glasses of wine, added to the lingering effects of a muscle relaxant, were the culprits.

The event is doing it's thing. We have been taking some photographs and I've temporarily put them up for folks to see.
Go here ->[link removed] to see them. The username is photos, password is photos.
I will be taking all this down on Monday afternoon as I need to take this server offline but, until them, see what we see.

I love the pictures. Though they only capture a fraction of the real fun of a MoM event.

Re: 2012 Midwest MoM
About 80 miles along the road from home, and the air cab air conditioning apparatus went into shut-down mode. Stopped at a car parts place, grabbed a can of R134A just in case, and a simple low pressure side gauge, to see if there was low low-side refrigerant pressure, pressure was within normal air-conditioning-off limits, so I got to remember driving in scorching summer heat without air conditioning. My first car was built so adding air conditioning would require extensive rebuilding of frame and body.
It was good to learn that I can still survive driving in stifling heat...
Got to the Hudson area too late to hitch a ride with the mothership residents, so drove to the Convent, and got there in time for the feast. Yeah, feast indeed. Yummy!
Went to, and through, Crystal Cave, to the bottom of the tour area, and back out. So, the stifling heat coming here did not succeed in stifling me. Yippee!
Met some folks who were not here last year, and am very glad to have met them.
I am now recovering from River's pancakes this morning. They were. in my view, even better than their reputation, which was already superb. Recovering from eating them is a truly grand experience.
Without the marvelous pancakes, meeting and talking with the folks here vastly outweighs the scorching ride it took to get here.
To those who could not come this year, it would gladden my heart to meet those who can come next year.
As long as there is breath in my body, I plan to return, year after year.
As it was for me last year, it has been a beautifully worthwhile experience this year.

Breakfast was great! Dinner looks even better. No field trips for the evening...I think we might be done with those for a bit?
Re: 2012 Midwest MoM
Burgers on the grill soon!
Y'all are missin' it!
And if one more person says to me, "You're not from around here, are you?" ...

Re: 2012 Midwest MoM
Sounds like great fun and I would like to get to know some of you. I would like to be able to join you.
Re: 2012 Midwest MoM
Burgers are served! All of them have a light cajun spice dusting. 2 no cheese. 7 with wisconsin chedder (unknown cheese factory), 6 with swiss from Cady cheese factory.
Mustard over there, potato salad to the right.
Oh, here are some pork chops too.

Thanks to everyone for their great hospitality, and finally after all these years being able to put faces with names.
The only excitement was when the chair under the red nun disintegrated, the hospital released him this morning.

The collapsing yard chair (plastic - broke up into 6-8 pieces) was definitely mind boggling - er, bonking, Hurt back, shoulder, hit back of head on picnic table bench. Woke up this AM with immovable shoulder and jaw. Roomy hauled me to ER. Xrays showed no breaks, fortunately. Told me to exercise the shoulder and arm, and chew gum to loosen up the jaw muscles. Seem to be fine now. We'll see if I tighten up again over night. BTW, that whole set of chairs is destined for the dumpster. I understand that I also kicked over the table we were sitting at. Undoubtedly, there should have been a vid cam running.

We were fortunate to have the opportunity to meet several new "faces" ... of course no one ever looks like one imagines them. They turn out not to be were wolves or drooling psychos - just pretty normal folks, myself excepted. Glad to have met you all -"George," Paul, Eric, and James - and a few others I haven't seen in about a year. Pleased to see you all !
