When people hear the word "eunuch," it probably stirs up images of someone who was castrated against their will before puberty and lived their life in servitude hundreds of years ago in Imperial China or the Ottoman Empire. So if you introduce yourself as a eunuch, most people, including most doctors, will likely have a confused or negative reaction.
Personally, I rather like self-identifying as a eunuch. But I generally wouldn't use the term in public unless I'm on this forum.

I use it in medical contexts, but not otherwise... I generally don't discuss gender other than the 'pronoun' issue, which I only mention if asked... I simply let folks assume what they like, which is pretty male looking...
I am not out in general.

I only use the term to describe myself in spaces where it's a fairly normal discussion topic or with the one person in real life that knows I'm a eunuch. So I basically use it here, on 1 or 2 other message boards, and when talking to that one friend. I really like the term too and I think it fits me well (I'm a castrated male) but I definitely don't publicly identify as a eunuch in my day to day life.

I may be a little different in my beliefs, but I am not ashamed to be known as a Eunuch. Probably because I have always been one. I have had very few issues with only a few individuals questioning the meaning of the Prefix "Eu." rather than "Mr.". There are always those who will criticize anything anyway. So be it.
As an added note, I feel being open about being a Eunuch could help should one of us be accused by some gold-digging female, of sexual harassment.
While we are on the subject of "Being Open", I would like to add that I am also open about being a Fellationist. I gave my first blowjob to a pal in Grade School when I was 13. Needless to say, he told some others and I from that day forward, I became known as "Blowjob". No, it wasn't easy at first, but I eventually got used to it. In today's society it doesn't matter anyway and quite frankly, I'm proud of it.

Eunuch are so rare that most people never think about them. It might get a little more attention, now that it's considered a new gender.
A loner who thinks in castration as an escape from flesh temptations.

Maybe we can be more precise here. All eunuch are rare but most of them live this condition as a "medication" against cancer. Those are up to 250,000 -300,000 adult males in the US. For a population of 350 millions it is about one man over 300 ( of course not considering the female half and about half of the males that are too young for prostate cancer) I think that this population, because of their medical condition do not want to be seen as or declare their eunuch identity. On the other hand the voluntary eunuchs are really very very rare of course and those guys are part of the new gender and a very small subgroup may be interested in exposing their gender.Friotler7 wrote: Tue Mar 04, 2025 7:00 am Eunuch are so rare that most people never think about them. Not myself an eunuch yet, because of the good reasons I saw in the EA2 and here, I think I would be proud of informing my close relatives and friends about my choice. But this will be in the future and things may change.

I feel there's a bit of a catch 22 dynamic. Because there's almost no understanding of the true meaning of the term, many who would otherwise publicly identify as such refrain from doing so out of fear of ostracization. Because so many keep their identity private, there continues to be this lack of understanding outside the community.
