Midwest MoM 2013 - The menu

Post by talula »

We are still working out the menu but rest assured that Riverwind's famous pancakes will be served at least once and probably twice. They of course come with a side dish of butter, some syrup (sugared and sugar free, some locally made others not so locally), some sausage links or bacon, and of course a huge glass of ice cold milk (refills are available of course, just ask the wierd looking guy with the cigar).😄

I'm thinking about getting some nice ribs or some local brautwurst as well.

It will be good!

There will not only be the menu for the body, as last year and before, there will also be the impromptu menu for the mind, like last year and the year before, so I do hope and trust.

The past two years, the menu for the mind was at least as nutritious and delicious as the menu for the body.

I am converting my Chevrolet Metro sedan from its automobile mode to its RV mode. Not every RV does better than 40 miles per gallon of petrol. Mine little one does.

I quite possibly would come for the gustatory delight alone...

Never saw a Chevolet Metro sub-compact sedan converted into a full function (though only one person size) RV?

Want to?

Come to the MoM.

Don't want to?

Ignore my little RV Metro conversion and come anyway?

Alas, no. She came with me in 2011; last year, she was having far too much difficulty walking; this year she is still in the recovery phase following her left hip prosthesis reconstruction last November, and is not yet in shape for the trip to the MoM.

I have great hopes for next year...

I always have great hopes for next year, because it will not be all that long until what is now next year takes the form of being "this year."

State Fair Food! Deep fried "everything" on a stick!

I may end up in the ER!

The good news is, after literally stepping on a rusty nail the other day, it seems to be just a nice scrape that's healing over and not infected. At least I can walk on it; it wasn't a deep puncture wound.

Yes. I have personally inspected a small keg of 1919 rootbeer and a bucket of vanilla icecream and pronounce them sensible food for everyone! Yum! Woo hoo! Root beer floats! Lets go! Where are they! Yes! Woo hoo!

We at the Two-Fourteen restaraunt tonight. River had the "Titanic Burger," most of had the fried cod, you know, fish and chips.

It was simply divine.

Best I've had, ever.

We had a grand view of the Mississippi and St. Croix river meeting point, with railway bridge and trains, too!

Talula had a wondrous carrot cake. Well, he got 1 piece for dessert. He had Gem try it, who gave it to me to try. I passed it to Jesus, and it went all around the table. When it got back to Talula, there was but 1 tiny bite left, and he dropped it in his lap and onto the floor it went!

A good time was had by all, at poor T's expense!

But we got him the rest of the home made cake to take home, so it's all good!

Wish you were here. :)
