NO ONE has EVER been told they cannot come to a MOM by the homeowners who host them.

Yup! If you are a member here, you are welcome (actually, invited) to attend. We wish that more would join us for the food and festivities.

Meeting of Members of EA.

At least annual gathering of members of the archive takes place every year in the Minneapolis/St Paul area (first arrivals are on 08/20/14). MoM's have taken place all over the country (US). Tried in other countries without success so far (that I am aware of). Talk to people. make it happen, say hi! Join us, please. We want to know / meet you.

Only a few more days to go until the grand event. Anyone who will be in the Greater Minneapolis Area who would like to attend, please send a Private Message to either Talula or me for details. It's shaping up to be a lot of fun.

Absolutely still time to decide to make it. Next weekend is the big event. Folks come from all over and some make it their vacation for the year it is so much fun.

Rarely does a person that frequents this forum get a chance to just let it all out and feel comfortable about it. Well now is your chance to chat with a stack of like-minded people and laugh your butt off while doing it. Food and wine and all sorts of stuff will be everywhere most of the time so you won't go hungry!

Sure, it is near Minneapolis/St. Paul and probably a ways away for you but no matter where we held it someone would still have a ways to travel to get to it. Just get here.

Menus will consist of an evening at Kristoff's convent featuring Paolo's "What could this be?" tasty surprise, an evening at one of the most tasty restaurants ever discovered and a veritable mountain of other yum-yum and nutritionally dubious yet delightful treats served by the platter.

Planned activities include the traditional laugh till your guts hurt along with pin the penis on Uncle Flo to a real raku firing demonstration. Lord knows what other fun will be lurking in between. I hear a trip to the state fair is probable and I'm sure that some watching the river float by will occur. River swimming and fishing locally available.

So once again. Come one come all to this year Midwest MoM 2014 held near Minneapolis/St. Paul with official dates of August 22,23 and 24 (with some coming early and others leaving late). Planes, trains and buses all stop here and we can pick you up if you take one of them. Local sleeping accommodations are available. Contact Jesus or myself for details and further arrangements.

Truly a remarkable event and one you should not miss.

Hope to see you there.

I have no idea why, nor do I know if they will return during MoM but a marching band just made it's way down the street in front of the Midwest MoM site banging and clanking and tweeting away. A little treat perhaps.

I wish that I could join you guys but something always seems to come up in August that makes getting away difficult. And, you have to admit, Minneapolis is not easiest place in the country to reach for many of us. Maybe some of us can start a MOM weekend somewhere in the Mid-Atlantic States early next spring.

We're long overdue for another MoM in the Mid-Atlantic. The only one to date was in 2006 in College Park. All it needs is a couple of people to do local arrangements and the publicity. If you're interested, let me know. I can help you to get started. You would need to get the word out a couple of months before the gathering.

I'm gonna warn you attendees right now, you get with me on State Fair Day, have a phone if you can't keep up, and don't forget the bus number - because I plan to make a day of it!

Maybe this is something that can be revisited at the beginning of next year, in early January, to see how many might be interested in coordinating the venue and/or attending it. Nine years between such regional meetings is too long; they should probably be no longer than three years apart. Then maybe the Western States and Southern States can have their own regional sessions the other two years.

Since many are arriving tomorrow, here is the weather forecast. It is currently 72f, sunny, a little breeze and more than exceedingly nice. As we approach the weekend temperatures are suppose to rise to the high 80's/low 90's. Some rain possible Thursday. Sounds like the weekend will be nice but just a tad warm. We gots air conditioning and a garden hose. Yay.
