Oh I meant ... I know what I am and I am well and truly ready to have 'the op' ... I have alcohol'd my testes and they are tiny and lumpy/hard. I have been ready for a long time ... I was wondering what verification of the required letter from a psych can occur.... I hate to be dishonest but I really hate been poked around at by mental health people... I scored really highly on the test btw..

If you look at the mental health stuff the will simply go through your background and establish whether you really want this and are a candidate for SRS. I don't think there is anything too scary. There is the insidtence that you live full time as a woman for between 1-2 years depending where you are.

I have spent a lot of time with a gender therapist and it was not at all scary and did me a lot of good. It is taking the first step that is the hardest.

Call a surgeon who does gender reassignment surgery, tell him or her where you are in your travel and ask to be recommended a psych for your clearance letter.

I think the scores are something like this:-

-650 to -389 Class 1 (Definite Male)

-390 to -129 Class 2 (Feminine Male)

-130 to 129 Class 3 (Androgyne)

130 to 389 Class 4 (Probable Transsexual)

390 to 650 Class 5 (Classic Transsexual)

The sexual gratification-based, fetishitic transvestite would fit Class 1

The mostly sexual / fetishistic but slightly gender involved crossdresser fits Class 2

The serious transgenderist fits Class 3

The most common type of transsexual (well over 70%) fits Class 4

The rarest, early onset, 'classic model of early research' transsexual fits Class 5

There was a time when I took the COIGATI. It gave results that I expected: nearly classic transsexual. The goal of the test and intent of its creator are admirable. There is significant criticism of the test, however, in part because it is based on stereotypes of what it is to be male and female. Those stereotypes do not necessarily mesh with one's gender identity. On top of that, it is not scientific, meaning here that it is not evidence based. For me, the latter is a significant drawback.

Each one of us is the ultimate authority on our own gender identity. This doesn't mean we cannot benefit from the help of a good gender therapist along our journeys.

It would be a good idea for anyone considering surgery to get surgeon references, ask for photos of surgery results, find out rates of complications and of what kinds and so on. For GRS (i.e., SRS) I went to one of the top surgeons in the world. I have an ongoing complication: pain. I knew this was a risk and I do not regret the surgery. Someone else in my situation might have regrets. Take a realistic look at your own risk tolerance before proceeding.

I wish I were able to contribute more. I'm still recovering from what may be the flu. I wish everyone well on whatever path they choose to take, or not take.

@Danya, no hesitation required. You are absolutely correct these tests are very subjective and the most important answers come form within each one of us. My own therapist does not try to reconcile me to stereotypes, we are both much more interested in my own answers having talked about the possibilities.

I wish you well with your pain I am having a fair bit of it myself and it does gnaw away at you making life harder to enjoy.

I scored -65 in group 3 Androgyne. As Danya pointed out many of the questions were based on stereotypes. I also answered what was closest to how I feel even though it may not have been completely accurate. Probably because the survey was geared toward those considering reassignment, a category I don't fit in to.

I just got a -5, which seems to suit me. In a strange way it seems to point out to me why I keep believing I would be better off as a eunuch. Something different not really either. Years ago I took a gender test on the web and came out totally female, way more so then any of my female friends, what was fun with that test was the higher you rose in your career the more Androgyne you tended to be.
