Surgically at two different operations. 2007 and 2010. Orchialgia was the diagnosis/ reason for the surgery.

Yes, it was a motivating factor to have the remaining testicle removed in 2010. My wife had an abdominal hysterectomy in May of the same year. In her case that was the left ovary, uterus, tubes and cervix.

We both wanted more.

Obviously. That was a major issue for me. My wife told me repeatedly to divorce her to find a younger woman to have more children with. Being completely sterile took away that temptation/ option.

Anything we can do to a rat we can do to a human being, and we can do damn near anything to rats.

Edit: I have had enough health issues - truly vexing, but not life threatening - that I would certainly use "designer baby" technology to spare my kids that same mess. I'd just as soon make sperm cells from a digitized genome tweaked for intelligence, charisma, and a lack of genetic disease. Everyone has, on average, six lethal recessive mutations, but I'd rather they didn't start playing that lottery with a disadvantage.

For having children it is in anyway too late, I can't be the right father anymore for the education that a child needs. A possible infertility does not play any negative role in connection to castration, on the contrary it would be to my opinion an advantage of castration.
