It has been well over a year since I have posted anything about the funding of the Eunuch Archive. We have been fortunate in the past to have had some generous donors who have kept us afloat. It is time to renew the call for support - this place is paid for by you through your donations, large and small.

Our costs include our server fees (we actually are running 7 virtual servers), PO Box fee, licensing fees for software, and domain fees. No one gets paid for working here, so we're getting by there.

For those in the US, we are incorporated as a not-for-profit educational organization - that means we are tax-deductible.

Donations of all sizes are welcome. If it fits your budget, it works for us. We prefer donations in US$, but will take other currencies, as well - there are fees for conversion.

Remember, between the forums and the fiction archive, we get over 20 million hits a month. That is lots of bandwidth. We run on 7 virtual servers - they cost us over $108 per month. Add to that the costs of domains, server software licensing, vb licenses. postal box rental - $200 per year. There are other items that add in. Often times Talula or I will cover them, but the majority must come from the people who use this site or it will not be here.

It has been a good day today.

This morning I pulled two contributions out of the mail box over at the east side station. We heard from Jesus (A) and from a donor who wished to be anonymous - both very generous.

This evening I checked the PaPal account, and we had heard from another generous member, theemptyone., who also helped pay our way!

I was on a mission to the Homo Depot to get a plumbing part (The Princess broke the crapper) when I stopped by the east side station. I found a letter from Harveywrwh, along with a generous money order. Thanks Harvey, much appreciated!

The Holy Pooper got fixed this AM for a total cost of $7.51, by my neighbor. Needed a new fill valve and float. I couldn't get the securing nut loose, so recruited neighbor to do the job. Works fine now, and I'm sure it will be ready for the MoM next summer! No contributions required!

We've been at our fund-raising drive for about 3 weeks now. We've heard from 12 people - largely the same people who always respond, with great appreciation on my part. It has been a week now since we've seen anything in the PO Box or the PayPal mailbox. It is time for the rest of folks who are regulars who appreciate this site to support it. We need everyone to pitch in. It doesn't matter if it is $5 or $500 - if it works for you, it works for us. Contribute what you can afford. Some can't, and that's OK too; there's always another time. I would like to keep a year and a half of funds available - a prudent reserve if you will, to keep us afloat while scrambling to survive, in case everything went to hell. That amounts to just under $2,000US. We are half way there, thanks to very generous members. I would really like to see, aside from our regular, repeat donors, contributions from those others who appreciate the EA that haven't yet donated. The same group isn't always going to be there; we need to spread the footprint to a larger group!

It has been quite a while since I have heard from anyone. Finally got an envelope from a friend in Kentucky who was kind enough to bestow a few bucks to help keep this place on the air. I believe this makes 13 people who have responded to our call for support. That is not enough. We have over 10,000 members - some more need to step up to the plate and hit a few more out of the park.
