Are Eunuchs Happy?

Post by jcat (imported) »

I am a very happy eunuch! I stumbled across this: http://www.internationalskeptics.com/fo ... p?t=244712 My first reaction is that these guys don't use Google, because if you ask Google this question the answers are clear there are many happy eunuchs and moreover, it is a growing trend. What do you think about the Skeptics post? Should we all join up and enlighten their dark minds with the light of truth!

Ah, I see they have a political forum.

That should make many here happy.

Is there a real point in doing so?

I mean there is always someone on the internet, who is wrong.

No I guess not, I am just amazed that people have their heads so deep in the sand when there has been so much in the press about us and Google is so easy to use! None of of know everything of course....but has not Google made knowledge so much more available with the caveat of discernment!

I guess also if all you do is log into one little body of knowledge one could get very narrow minded.

Are eunuchs happy? I am happy I am a eunuch. Am I always happy about everything? Well no, I find much wrong in the world to be unhappy about. A good friend just died and I also learned of a beautiful woman I worked with and discovered she died several years ago. Life is happy and sad.

Define happiness to me. I have a good job, a nice place to live, a loyal dog, and a few good friends. So yes I am happy and lucky. I wish I had a partner and a lover which I do not so I am not truly happy. I saw a woman today who remembered me and mentioned how kind I had been to her daughter. After inquiring about her daughter I learned she had died. I was sad. Life is a rollercoaster of emotions.

I am more happy than not.

I agree! Many times I abstain from leaving my comments, especially on youtube, because of rude, bad-mannered people who cannot engage in a normal conversation, but in return just start using profanity. You never know who is on the other end of the line.

@tugon, I agree with you, there is much to be sad about and tragedy strikes us all not least in the form of cancer that has taken so many of my close friends and family. But this is life whether one is a eunuch or not.

One of the things that makes a huge difference to me is the engagement I have here on EA with many great people, although I have only met 2 people from here, the connection I have with a handful of members is a real blessing. I mostly check the place out every day really enjoy reading some of the posts and occasionally I can make a contribution, sometimes even make people laugh (I hope).

In the main I have a good life, with all the usual ups and downs of paying the bills and keeping the wolves from the door.

Since my castration last year I have entered a new phase of contentment that has not diminished, it is almost a year now and wow, I feel so much better in the inner me.

@Genchick it is true there is a whole mass of ignorant and inconsiderate people out there in all walks of life, occasionally I have found that an engagement can stimulate their thinking....it is rare. I agree that posturing and arguing is pointless if no one is listening.

I'm no more or less happy with life in general than before the surgery. I'm still the same 'ol me. The same things still either piss me off or make me smile. And most important I have the love of a healthy normal family that includes six of the best grandchildren God ever blessed anyone with.

But the decision to want to be a eunuch and then doing what needed to be done to become one was very right for me and I haven't regretted it for a moment. I might feel differently if I was younger but at 71 it was without a doubt right for me. I am more at peace with myself without an once of libido than I ever thought imaginable. I don't give sexual activity a moments attention anymore and enjoy the peace of mind that accompanies it. I don't take any TRT or have any desire to. I follow my urologist's instructions to take a 600mg over the counter calcium tablet every morning and evening and will start getting an annual bone scan in the spring as a precaution against osteoporosis and brittle bones. Once again I thank this site and my eunuch mentor for getting me here.

Surgery did not change anything for me except to remove my out of control libido. That had been a major cause of unhappiness in my life, so therefor, I am now much more happy.

I'm happy here. And I also believe eunuchs are generally happier too. Where there are no false expectations, there is no longing. This is why a person without that major sex drive that testosterone demands of one is generally much happier.

Wouldn't it be a matter of why one became a Eunuch? If it is involuntary due to an accident or cancer, I would imagine the person would not be a happy Eunuch. Even on the forum I have read about people who wanted to be castrated who srill had a deep depression after the fact. I imagine its an individual thing, although if you wanted it, you are much more likely to be happy afterwards.

Moi, I agree the calmer more serene water on which we swim like swans is less angry!

Wolf Pup, You are right and there are many reason why we become eunuchs. For me it was nothing to do with libido, or anger, it was because I have never felt right with dangly bits between my legs and I am so much happier now that 2 out of three are gone. I love libido and definitely do not want that to go, so my estrogen and progesterone deal with that.

When I am conscoius of the empty space or feel it, I smile one of contentment, like a cat purring!

Hmm. One would think so. I didn't like being nutted but now have more than adjusted to it and am probably happier than before. Maybe contentment is a choice?

I am overall more at peace at least! As for happy I never considered myself as happy or unhappy really. I am more content with how I am now! Life still has its ups and downs and I expect will as long as I live and I have to choose how to react!

According to many philosophers, you can't choose to be happy, but you can choose to be content.

Happiness = Reality - Expectation

this is the "happiness equation" from modern economics. It says that happiness has a large component of mental influence. Your expectations of reality have a huge effect and fortunately with attention your expectations are somewhat under control - whereas reality can be, shall we say, recalcitrant? We can all probably think of examples where expectations defeated our happiness or where reality greatly exceeded our expectations and we were suddenly very happy. It is a trick of mental discipline to manage your expectations. I am new here and trying to learn about what to expect in terms of physiological changes from castration - so if I go ahead, I can do so happily (knowing what to expect and honestly expecting it to be a little bit worse than it turns out makes all the difference!)
