And that is my point for this thread. A wanker isn't at risk, but a sincere person who takes the wankers fantasy as fact is at risk of what you said above.

I think we have to be careful about dismissing "wankers". There is another category (in which I include myself) which is more of a "waffler". I have progressively gone to the brink and have now done irreparable damage to both my testicles and penis. But there are other times where I regret it and fight the urges with all my might. My most recent "scare" was just three weeks ago when I tied my balls to a powerful automatic window shade in a Chinese hotel room and pressed the "up" button and it started lifting me up off the ground and was going to winch my balls right the ceiling (my whole weight was on it) and I only saved myself by bracing my legs against the ceiling until the motor burned out! I literally almost had my balls ripped right off of me. Then I was stuck because my whole weight was hanging on my balls but luckily I had tied them with a power cord so I was able to hang by one arm while loosening it with the other and finally freed myself. I thought I'd have to hang their all night until a maid found me! Anyway, immediately afterwards I realized how stupid I was. I can laugh about it now, but I literally was at the edge. Right now I'm in totally the opposite mood and wish that I could restore my genitals to their undamaged state and get an erection (but I ruined that three months ago by injecting phenol into my penis) but no operation except an implant can help me.

So basically I am a "wanker" in that it is a fantasy, but then it leads into moments where I'm determined to make it a reality, and then when I survive that I with I never had the fantasy, a cycle that has played over and over again. My progression of damage though is that it is likely I'll lose it all, just a matter of time while I resist as much as I can and I hope I don't kill myself when it does happen...

So please be sensitive to those who are alternating between fantasy and reality. A strong fantasy can become dangerous in a moment when your guard is down, maybe when you're drunk or depressed.

This leads to another category of "wanker" which we need to be sensitive to -- the insane folks. I believe my problem is technically a mental illness, but there are some people that come here that are truly off. Remember that guy who was obsessed about wanting his castratrix to have her sleeves rolled up? All he could talk about was having the sleeves rolled up... There are others who come here and just say weird stuff. While it is tempting to chase them off, I feel sorry for them.

I think my advice about likely wankers is:

a) err on side of caution -- go ahead and give your advice, because some wankers are progressing towards action and you can help them.

b) if they don't seem to repsond to your advice, or show their craziness just ignore them.

There is a distinct difference between wankers and wafflers.

For example, in your case of waffling, you've described what you did and how it was ill advised. That's a huge difference.

The thread was initially posted at my encouragement to LT when we were discussing this problem.

He initially didn't want to do it, but did so at my insistence, because we were both concerned that it was becoming a problem that needed addressed.

Surely you don't mean this specific thread, and instead mean the one where the wanker was identified. I believe the latter was shut down.

I will state again, what I've said in here thus far is important. Heck, go read that thread about the guy on meth who cut his genitals off and fed 'em to an alligator. Read that article and understand that guy nearly bled to death. That's what I'm trying to prevent here. The wankers will come in and post DIY methods and "advice" that have a significant likelihood of ending up like that meth-head, and potentially worse.

As Paolo said, I was reluctant to post this thread at the time. I'm have no such reluctance of it remaining now. It's an incredibly important discussion, and those men who are struggling with a disconnect between their physical body and what their brain perceives as correct, need to see things like this so they know those of us that have gone before them are here to help and support them, and not to take some other person posting fantasy as fact as advice for what they should do.

I think a degree of respect is owed to those who get as far as asking honest advice. They don't need a wanker.
